A lovely and very atmospheric photo. Winter has its own kind of beauty. All the aspens are in a full blaze of color where I live in the mountains - an amazing and inspiring sight. Well, sir, this is very gooooood. I have a box of my grandfather's glass negatives probably taken about 1900-1905. You've got the style and look down to a "T". Think of how far we've come in photography during the last 110 years!!! And thank you so much for your good wishes...all very much appreciated:)

I have never seen a glass negative, or at least don't recall if I did. This is absolutely beautiful Mark, captures the 'old' feel very nicely. I can't see the colors properly (my pc problems)but its a fine shot, the fog is wonderful as is the light!

Chicago fog looks wonderfully moody when you're a bit east in the city. Out farther west, it still looks moody, but also a bit dirty and grungy and kinda nasty, like it's infected with something really um...interesting. I love this shot: the POV is quite perfect: it gives a marvelous sense of scale and depth and delivers the sensation that the fog has as much depth as I've seen in Prague, where the fog arrives every morning, makes the castle look spooky, and then vanishes, but not before leaving dewdrops on spiderwebs. I love the way this evokes that, and the work you did on this is marvelous! The building just barely visible to the right makes an excellent framing reference, and the geometry of the dog-proofing around the grass is quite intriguing. I think of old heliotypes I've seen when I look at this: they're a wee bit different, but the vibe is the same. Needless to say I really like this, and as soon as Corey gets home, I'm gonna show it to him. He gets home today, by the way, and so he'll get to see this and the previous works you've put up. He's quite antsy to get home, so it'll be great to show him cool stuff in the galleries, just so he won't feel so far out of the loop. This is quite marvelous.
