Description

This might be a first for me, trying my hand (and camera) by getting in touch, with the human side of photography ... lately it has been simply objects, plants, animals or insects etc. (and mostly, they do hold still ;) Believe me, I need the practice and a challenge - so here we go; today's meagre offering: 'a young boy jumping from rock to rock' - on the rock-groyne that divides the Tweed River and the Pacific Ocean, to do a spot of fishing. This was no easy feat, 'cause he was pretty fast and this shot wasn't planned, really by sheer co-incidence were the camera and I ready ... nothing more to say, except it was late afternoon and half his body and face came out darker, than expected - but I don't really mind! Another beach-treasure methinks! Cheers Brigitte ( aka blondeblurr)

Full of action. An interesting capture. One can see the effort on the face of the boy, also in his attitude you show us. A lovely boy, one with his surroundings, that is what's speaking in this great shot. Congratulations dear Brigitchen!

Excellent capture! Just the right timing. The light is great! Not everything is always evenly lit, and you don't really want it to be. Light like this creates a mood. If it was YOUR boy, you might want to see his face clearly, but it's just about A boy, sort of an archtypal boy, the IDEA of a boy fishing in summertime, and the light for those purposes is very nice. Great composition and color ... a lovely image!

fantastic!!! (applause, you past the test! :-D) love it!!! wonderful POV!!! (if you're setting it up, perhaps you want to consider bringing some white sheets or 'other' reflection screens to brighten up the shadows -hearhear- or even fill in flash) to me it already looks perfect anyway!

Ace capture BB, if you have ever fallen on to the rocks on a rock groyne before, then that look of shear concentration is the norm for all Rock-hoppers alike ! Kool series and looking forward to more ! ~Cheers~ :o)

Excellent image! Wonderful lighting and colors. I love his expression and the the shape of the rocks. I like that he fills up the image and seems in tune with his surroundings. He, the rocks, and the water, seem to be one. Like a picture of Tom Sawyer painting the fence, they are all one in telling a story. Lovely work.

One thing about photographing rocks...they usually remain still (I'm sure it's a physics thing...bodies at rest and all that) Boys however, do not, unless they have a playstation. So, if you plan on photographing more adolescents, you may need to stock up. Still, outstanding shot, I like the way he's framed by the light.

Yes, you have to practically pull the trigger even before its next makes you react. You must have foreseen, in order to trick your own perception. Because when we see it, the process takes long ago. By the way .... class pic ... thumbs up! Julchen grüßt Brigittchen

outstanding shot (and not because he's out standing on rocks)... shows the concentration of walking on uneven and uncertain ground, the shadowing is right (there only being one source of light)... very dynamic... we gonna see more?
