Description

The view from Arch Rock Picnic Area, about halfway between Brookings and Gold Beach, Oregon. Erosion changes the world bit by bit. The forces of nature slowly, slowly carve the rocky coastline into new patterns and new formations. The fully separated rock on the right shows the future of the headland on the left. The Oregon Coast is one of the most beautiful places in the world, and every square inch of the more than three hundred miles of beach from the water's edge to the vegetation line has been public access since 1967.
