Description
Captured 4/12/12, late morning, just outside my usually congenial condominium complex.
One of 46 photos I took of the leading edge of the storm as it approached our area. I found it difficult to decide which pic to post first.
ZOOM worthy.
Most normal for Seattle, the UK and elsewhere, but this aerial phenomena is such a rarity around here that I took the opportunity to record it for the sake of posterity. In order to achieve the desired dramatic results, I attached a polarizing filter to the lens of my Canon PS SX20IS camera and went out cloud hunting. I pointed as close to the sun for the most dynamic effects, and shot through the viewfinder because the LCD monitor was mostly washed out by the sunlight. I believe the manufacturers have made a big mistake by eliminating the viewfinder on the newer point-and-shoot cameras.
Totziens, thankx for hopping aboard, and for any and all favs and noncritical comments.

Nice eye of the sky capture here, Harry; you did well getting depth and delineation in the cloudscape!

A super capture of this approaching storm. I agree it is a shame we don't have a viewfinder on the point and shoot cameras any longer cause it can be a hit or miss capture sometimes in the sunlight. A bit like my new computer it can't take floppy discs, I guess they think they are obsolete but I have a lot of my pictures stored on them, so thank goodness I still have my old one so that I can get them all off the floppies and onto the memory sticks.
