Hi everybody,
My name is Dana Pommet and my wife’s name is Josephine. I was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts, in 1942, and except for a tour in the Navy, lived there for most of my life. I retired to Delray Beach, Florida in December 2000. We love to travel and photography goes hand and hand with that. I went digital about 5 years ago and started posting November 22, 2008. I have met so many wonderful people on RR and that makes this whole process so much more interesting than just posting photos. Thanks for all the comments and keep them coming.
Update  January 2012: After hiding and denying my mild Dyslexia, for most of my professional life, and now fighting with its advancement – I want to thank you all for putting up with my poor typing skills and spelling problems. I know that my spell checker hates me and I now depend completely on audio books rather then actually reading printed books.  Life marches on!  ÂÂ

OMG Dana! I have been away for a couple of months due to traveling abroad (planning some doctoral stuff in Portugal) and a lot of RL stuff. Had no idea you were going through all of this, though I am exhilarated to know that you are fine. When I first read your post, I was extra startled because I thought you were saying that you DID have the "big c"... Took me a while to re-read that it was all just a mistake (thank God). Anyhow, hope you friend and you mother-in-law make a speedy recovery. As for the image, it is quite an impressive Christmas tree. I hope the angel on top looks over you and yours.

I,m glad you're back, Dana. I wish you and your wife the best for this new year. you went through a hell, but thank God it was only a false alarm. And thank God you had your wife by your side to help you stand.

Dana, I have a total understanding of your situation. I have been under and over the cancer scare 3 times already in 3 years. Seems they can't get it right. :-) Each time it takes the wind out of my sails. As soon as I passed 55 I realized there was more going on with neighbors and family than before. Now I spend more time concerned with others and less time with myself because I think I'm better off. Don't burst my bubble... :-) Love this shot and coming after Christmas makes it even better. It can be seen as a quality photo more than a holiday shot. Well done and glad you are back.

Thank you for the updates and I am so glad that all the tests have come back clear of cancer, and that your Mother in law is getting better too. I hope you have a great year with no more health problems. This is an enormous tree that you have captured beautifully. It would have taken a lot of work to get it decorated.

Nice to hear from you again, hope you are feeling better now. Such a huge tree, and I really like the tree top. They must have spent tons of time putting this big tree together and decorating it.
