Description
The flowers I brought home for my wife yesterday. We've had that vase for a long time - since the early 70's. It's English Ducal Ware & we bought it at auction (very cheaply) at a time when we were making a living buying & selling (& often repairing) antiques & art objects. Most went through our hands quickly & were sold, but this was one of the few things we decided to keep...

Pretty flowers for your wife, I am sure she loved these...:)))

It is a lovely shot with pleasing warm tones. There is a beautiful harmony between the wood and the vase and the flowers give a splash of color. However, I find the whites and highlights to be a bit overblown. I would put this image into RAW and pull down the highlights... this would darken the windows and cut the blaze of white on the upper left of the flowers, bringing out their detail. Alternately a polarizer would probably work too.

It's lovely on that shiny wood table, with the light glowing on the blossoms; gorgeous capture!
