Description

I still have some ways to go before this model is completed but... I had enough "bits and pieces" and couldn't resist giving it its maiden flight, spinning prop. and all (I tried adding some motion blur in PSP, but I just find this filter incredibly "headache- inducing"...Is it just me?) So there, as untextured, unmarked, "naked" as they come,a 1941 "short-nose" Mig 3, rendered with BMRT/Rhinoman.

It really has that tin bender, high production, short build time look of the forties. Your prop is much better than most revealing three "blades." The only place it might need a little coming out is on the exhaust pipes where there is no black noise to reveal features. The seams and aerials place this in a excellent state of detail.

More often than not, this was the camouflage pattern of the Red Air Force in 1941, especially in the winter campaign. Just needs the stars. I like it!

Thank's a lot for comments. The "update" is that...I'm still working on them, as I am building both "short-nose" and "long-nose" versions and they'll be completed ...soon ( there aren't many differences between versions and this being quite a lot of work, I may as well have both). Some of what you see on this pic. has been changed, such as guns height/position and side engine panels shape.

Excellent piece of modelling and rendering. The panel lines and fuselage projections are very well executed! Look forward to the update and final texturing.
