It's a cool looking ship, but if it had more variation in color, especially for the hull and back, the surface wouldn't look so confusing, at least to me ;) Especially love the background too, looks very nice, but I'd fix up the atmosphere near the top right corner of the world

Holy Moly what a ship! What a sky! All those little nurnies on the ship make it looks immense, that's the hardest thing to get on ship is that sense of scale. I didn't notice the atmosphere thing until TKRaccoon pointed it out;-)

I don't know about this one, Lon. I like the details in the lights, and the top part of the ship, but the front end is a little over the top with detail. Looks almost like it has FUR. Too much greebling there I think.

LOL yeah I might have got a little over the top on this one. I got an out of memory error while I was working on it and max just shut down. I have a gig of memory and allocate another 8 gig in vurtual memory.

DId you use Greeble on it, Lon? That adds a lot to the geometry, and can make the mesh extremely dense. However, it does have an option to only render the results, and not show them in the viewport. Don't know if that would have helped the memory issues. Of course, you'd have to model around it without the greeble effect showing in the viewport, which can make things... difficult.

The front cone and the part of the engine right behind the rounded part are greebled. Not only on the top polys but greebled on the side polys of the greebled polys :) I like to experiment around just to see what will happen. Sometimes it works sometimes it don't. Once in a while something extrodinary will happen. All the rest of the ship is poly and spline modeling. Some of the mats have alpha chanels to make it look even more detailed. I always say if it don't crash a few times add some more stuff ;o)
