Description


Second Beach, Olympic National Park. This picture would not be possible without the 3 stop hard edge graduated neutral density filter. The filter is dark on the top half, and clear on the bottom,and is color neutral. Nikon N90, Nikon 24mm f/2.8, Galen Rowell 3 stop hard edge ND Grad, Fuji Velvia slide film. Exposure: f/22, 4 seconds

Right out of the books .. very well done!!! :) 10 minutes later and some steps to the left / back - you could have the sun shine through that hole in the rocks? Wish i was there ... sigh vote

Raven 427, I tried that, the problem is with a 4-6 second shutter speed, you can't let the water hit your tripod because the legs sink a little in the sand. I do have a shot with a 300mm were the light thru the hole turns the mist in the air a nice color. I do like the idea, gives me something to strive for.
