Description

The wind blows all those ice-crystals and ice behaves a little bit different than sand. Remarkable little layers of ice appear to be formed by the continuing gusting winds. Minolta X-700 (Fuji Sensia 100, 70 mm) Thanks for your attention and your always valuable comments

Yes, fabulous lighting and I can almost hear the wind creating those formations as it chills the ears! I like that area to the top left where you can just see through to the next mountain.

I don't know in which part of switzerland you live but this morning, we need 2 hours to go from Geneva to Lausanne. The reason is the "bise" blowing so strongly and chasing the snow over the icy roads! If you go outside today around the leman lake, you will see exactly the same kind of pictures than the one you submit today. AND I JUST FORGET TO TAKE MY CAMERA... I'M A BUMMER!!!!... and you're a genius!

Brilliant atmosphere. I like the sharp cold foreground fading into a freezing fuzzy background.

gasp a masterpiece, jan-carel!!! print it an and frame it!!!!!! this is your absolute best i think, and this is one that belongs in an art museum! I am in total awe when i look at this!! how you've captured the wind blowing the snow is just exquisite. i don't think i can tell you how this one blows me away!! what niu says...about this being like a movie scene....yes...it's like i'm at the cinema looking at this. i feel like i'm in the image itself...as soon as i see it...BAM!! I'm there! there no "jumping in" the image. This one just picks me up and grabs me and i'm right there down low flying over it!! This image is like a magnet. one look at it snags you. it's got you. i think it's the POV that does that. maybe? you gotta tell me EVERYTHING about this image. how you took it, what you felt. this one ranks as one of the best photos i ever seen in my lifetime!!!! i don't know how to describe beauty like this. i truly don't. this is one that will make you famous!!!!!!!! this is one to market...one that will make you lots of money if you ever decide to go that route! hugest one-arm high 5!!!! now let's have a party and celebrate this!!!! vote!!

Evocative and slightly eerie, Jan-Carel. I do wonder what is just over the horizon. The trees we can see, but is there some mystery hidden..? Regards, John.

The thumbnail pic definitely caught my attention. We've had quite a bit of snow here and then some powerful winds which carved their way through the snow to create such beautiful motion as you did here. Truely beautiful.
