Description

Lately, I've been cursing the stormy South Florida skies for not letting me get any good night shots of the big full moon we have right now and other neat celestial phenomenon. However, when the storms do break, you sometimes get a rare opportunity for some dramatic cloud shots. Just before sunset last week, the clouds overhead cleared a bit and the most bizarre light started emanating through our home's windows. I grabbed my camera and stepped outside into a surreal landscape. The golden light was intense, and contrasted with both the dark and lit up cloudbanks. To the north, the sun was reflecting off a small section of clouds and lighting it up theatrically. It reminded me a bit of some scenes from the movie Independence Day, and seemed like a good photo to post in anticipation of Steven Spielberg's upcoming War of the Worlds.
