Hello to all ! Is there any way to get the bones out of Poser4 ? obj, dxf, 3ds... ? Thanx, -Juergen.

Poser doesn't use bones. There was once an article by Steve Cooper talking about why, and the advantages and disads that come with this, but I don't remember when or where.

Sorry: what are "bones" and what do they do, in 3D graphics packages that have them?

Hello ! I meant the anatomy or skeleton of a model with "bones". As discussed in the Poser forum (same topic from 7. April), Poser has no bones. Instead, it uses joints to simulate the bending and to implement IK. hopethishelps

Hello, It's true that Poser does not really have bones. It uses joint parameters to bend the mesh at fixed points. One way might be to get "LifeForms", it builds a skeleton figure from the poser model and uses it to animate the figure inside LifeForms. This skeleton figure can be exported and might could be used as a bones setup in another program. Just a idea to try. Serpent

Or try in the Additional Figures folder in Poser 4, loads of bones?
