It sounds like something isn't pointing properly. You may want to read up on the thread above on how to add the morphs in a MAT file. It's a lot of reading, but there's examples on how to inject the morphs you need and how to set them to a specific value inside the MAT file. No, you don't need to purchase all the other morphs from DAZ to make poses. It's just a question of getting used to using morph injection for poses that require specific morphs. Hope this helps, CresYou have to have all the morph packs as far as I know. The base model doesn't really have any. Sorry :(. If it's any consolation, even IF you purchase all the morphs, textures, and everything else for V3, she STILL costs less than Vic 1 or 2 did. If you buy her now while she's still on sale, that is. Laurie
Crescent: if he wants to use morphs made by other people using V3's morph dials, he WILL need to have the extra morph packs from DAZ. If he is using object morph targets and magnets he won't. macmullin: if you are using object morph targets and magnets and your pose files STILL don't work, then save your morphed Vicky as a figure instead of a pose. That "should" work :o) Laurie
I think the approach is going to require a different approach, though I am very sure that there is support for non-DAZ morphs built into the newest vicky. I am guessing that an empty vicky will require something to be injected (using the same channel as you are using for your morph) I suspect that you can do the injection directly, but it will require studying the stuff already present for vicky. Perhaps a quick test would be to use a pre-existing DAZ channel (name). Load the original (allowing whatever is necessary for the injection to take place) and then use your own. If that works, just study how they did their injector to make yours an injectible quantity. Also, there has been mention (from Dan Farr, I believe) of 2 different channel schemes: Daz, and community (bearing CD and CC in the channel names, respectively) The idea is, if you want to avoid trampling over DAZ morphs, or having DAZ morphs trampling over yours, use the community dials (since DAZ will never use those names in anything they distribute) That is just a guess. I'm still trying to get ahold the volume of morphs already present (if you don't own any of the morph kits, I'm sure someone will post a tutorial soon) I would be happy to try it, myself, but I will be leaving in a half hour to do X-Mas stuff, and won't return before late this evening. Eric
Eric, you are right about the DC and CC channels. As was pointed out in the V3 FAQ (go to the set of icons on the bottom half of the opening page and then hit FAQ), the empty ones, with the DC designation, are reserved. If someone uses them, they stand the chance of a new DAZ product overwriting it. Cris
I just tried to imitate a face injection using a quick morph I threw together and it works quite nicely. However, I was using portions of DAZ injector files (not really any delta information, just the frame work) and I am not certain which of it would violate copyright, so I don't feel comfortable posting it as an example (the geometry was derived from magnets, though) Frankly, the morphs are well worth the money. The faces alone are fantastic (you can actually get some pretty faces without any effort at all....of course, so can everyone else :) Also, having them will be very helpful for those who wish to earn cash selling new characters. One really nice thing about this approach, it is soooo much easier than the old approach (at least when using magnets) because your base cr2 file is practically empty (and your destination pz2 file is a single morph) It means that you can do it by hand with out much trouble at all. I'll have to go check out that FAQ...haven't read it yet:) Thanks Chris eric
Well I got Victoria III as a Christmas gift to my self last night. More-or-less an investment to create and sell textures in the near future in the store to pay for my poser monkey (bad habit). I did not purchase any morphs for her, I thought she would come at least with the basic ones. I created the simple breast morph as usual through magnets and an external 3D application like everyone else does and applied the object to the figure. I had no problems saving Vicky III as a cr2 file as a figure - but this would be not legal to sell or freely distribute in the future. With Victoria II one created a mat, pose or face file and could do with as they so pleased. I feel Vicky III product line is getting complicated and the product even if you had to paid a little more came complete like Vicky II. Moreover, again no old clothing will fit her. I did manage to take Vicky III and created a separate figure with Vicky IIs joints and fall off prams, The clothing fits fine with minor ajustments and the figure works toobut still no morphs. Perhaps in the future pre-set magnet settings will be the easiest and quickest way to distribute simple morph targets. But, the more complex ones - if every one does it like I do, they are created in many stages with a number of magnet sets and settings till the desired effect is gotten. Oh well, it will all seem normal in time... :-) I must thank everyone here and forum member through out the past year for your wonderful gifts, help, kindness, and inspiration to me here at Renerosity, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year.
I assumed from the post that they did have the morphs, they just couldn't get them to apply after they saved them to a normal pose file and opened up a new, blank V3. Yeah, if you don't have the morphs and use someone else's pose file, it won't work. That's always been the case. That's why a lot of vendors state if the MOR files will work with all Vickis or just Vicki2 with the expanded morph set.
macmullin, I've just been running through the steps, doing exactly what you did, and here's the scoop. First of all, you have to understand that the default-no morph vicki DOES have all the morph channels built into her, but they're all blank, empty channels, and furthermore, they're all hidden from the user until you inject. What the injection files do is to call up a pose file which injects the morph and simultaneously unhides the dial. OK. I haven't injected any morphs yet, even though I have both packs, so I was using a blank vicki. I magneted vicki, spawned a morph and saved her in characters. That gave me a cr2 with the full morph channel, just like you got. Saving her in Pose with morphs gave me an empty morph channel, exactly the same as the zillions of other blank channels already there. (I was looking at the files in cr2Edit) I'm not sure why this happens. I haven't examined vicki that closely yet. I reckon the only things you could do are, either transfer the morphs from the figure using Morph Manager, or follow the steps in the thread I posted (link above) and put the deltas in a blank channel. It's easy enough. I was doing it with a figure I built just to see if it worked, and I used a blank channel from vicki. Now, I don't want to step on anyone's toes here. I have no idea of the legality/illegality of this. It seems to me that a blank channel is a blank channel is a blank channel. I could've made my own. I used a DAZ one because it happened to be in my face, but I don't want to be screamed at by DAZ. So, I'm not inciting poser users to take up a life of crime here. Just pointing out what the various possibilities are. mac

Forgot the link. Drat! macCuriouser and curiouser! I just tried injecting one of vicki's own morphs and saving that to Pose. Nothing! Nada! Zilch! It wasn't there. It wouldn't apply, and when I checked the pz2, the channel was empty. Does this mean you can't save v3 morphs along with the pose? It seems fairly mind-bogglingly unbelievable. I mean, talk about a basic poser concept? I'm not going to jump to any wild conclusions. I'm off to try some more and will be back. mac
Oh, silly me. I already forgot what I learned yesterday. In order for a morph pose to be applied, the morph has to be already be in vicki. In other words, if you save a pose to the library with the African Head morph channels included, you can only use the morphs in that pose on a vicki with the African Head morph injected. If you're using another vicki with adifferent set of morphs in her, you can't use that pose. Hmmm...could be complicated. I'm going to post this info in a fresh thread, since it might affect quite a number of innocent bystanders. Anyway, macmullin, the answer to your question is simple. Your morph won't take because a blank vicki doesn't have that morph in her already. So you have to either inject it or stick in with MM. mac

There is another way. You can hand edit the pose file to read the morph injection file and stick the morphs in when the pose file is clicked. You can also stick the values you want to use in that pose file, or have it read a MOR file with the settings you'd like to use. I started Morphing out Victoria III this morning using my extensive collection of magnets that I used in creating Adrianna V2P4 v2. I created a breast morph on my test model and saved it as normal and re-applied it to the default Victoria III figure no problem dials work every thing ok. I then save it as a pose including the morphs targets to the default !Victoria 3 Morphs folder. I then proceeded to created a new file brought up the un-morphed default figure again and applied the pose... no go... zero effect! Can some one tell me what I am doing wrong with the pose files?
