Hrrmmmm... fight songs now, PJ? I may have to dig into my Kipling and drag out the Birds of Prey March if we're going to need rally songs and theme music. ;] Or, mahaps "Danny Deever" would be more appropriate to the sequence that started this rolling?
"I am a good person now and it feels... well, pretty much the same as I felt before (except that the headaches have gone away now that I'm not wearing control top pantyhose on my head anymore)"
I was in town yesterday with my Mom and we went shopping. I lost Mom in the new Super Store so I decided to go back to the car. I walked out and there was a cop writing a parking ticket. So I went up to him and said, "Come on buddy, how about a break?" He ignored me and continued writing the ticket. So, I called him a pencil necked nazi. He glared down at me and then started writing another ticket - for having bald tires! So, I called him horse shit and a few other choice words. He finished the second ticket and put it on the car with the first one. Then he started writing a third ticket!! This went on for about twenty minutes; the more I abused him verbally the more tickets he wrote. Then my Mom came out. We walked around the corner to our car and left. It was a truly AWESOME day! - unknown.
Is someone keeping a list of words we can't use here? If so, we need to add the word "dufflebag". It doesn't matter if the person really is dishelved or disorderly (like the military term says), the word is now "bad". If someone called me a dufflebag, I'd take it as a light, joking, insult- the person wanted to call me a name, but not something offensive. That's the kind of name that you should laugh at, not something you should give a warning about. Jeff, I would say that you're being a ____ and a ____, but I don't know which word may be next to cause me to get a warning. How about if I just say that you're overreacting. (And for those you playing at home, the next word to cause people to get a warning is "overreacting".)
This is the addendum I spoke of above.
The TOS has been revised reguarding warez:
Renderosity maintains a Zero Tolerance on certain behaviors within the community:
Soliciting or Trading of any products illegally. This includes, but is not limited to, requests and/or distribution of computer software, software security overrides, serial numbers and/or admission of use or possession (warez).
Rumors have it a list of forbidden words that can violate the TOS is being developed. This will give a reason for violation.
The current list:
"R'osity" - Some cultures consider slang, nickname, or abbreviate form of a name is a grave insult and personal attack.
"Good" & "Evil" - Moral Judgement
"Pink Ponies" & "Mr. Fluffers" - They are just magnet for attacks and flame wars.*
The next word can get you immediate permanent banning: Belgium
*To Legume. We'll miss ya.
I'd like to request an addition to the TOS as well. A clause stating that Admins and mods (past and present) are subject to the rules as well and eligible for bannings and suspensions. Or why don't you, JeffH, admit to the fact that you've done the exact same thing you banned VS for?
And there's proof in the Poser forum a few weeks back where a previous mod willingly and knowingly violated the TOS with a personal attack and is still here and posting and based on posting history, was not even suspended.
I'm all for people upholding the rules of the site but when certain people are obviously held exempt from those same rules you defeat your purpose by proving that they are negotiable depending who you are.

"there's proof in the Poser forum a few weeks back where a previous mod willingly and knowingly violated the TOS with a personal attack and is still here and posting and based on posting history, was not even suspended." If you are referring to me Kendra. Then I can assure you that I did recieve a warning. I wanted it to be posted in the Poser Forum so the members could see that they do treat me the same as the other members. But they wouldn't do that. They didn't understand that I wanted it to be public. As far as what's been going on here lately goes. Every person in this thread has, in my opinion, made a personal attack on Jeff. In the AOY threads. The same group of members posted personal attacks on TammyMC for making a mistake. I'm ashammed of what the Admins. have let happen to this place. When I left. People were behaving themselves for the most part. And I didn't even need to be here most of the time. I felt I had accomplished my goal for the most part. Now it's a playground for a certain group of bored children. And the Admins. aren't capable of doing what needs to be done to get the place back under control. Hiding behind a T.O.S. designed to be manipulated by the members to attack at will. I'm ashamed of all of you (members and Admin.). For what you did to this place. ScottA
"Every person in this thread has, in my opinion, made a personal attack on Jeff." Hey, I didn't personally attack anyone...I was just commenting on the utter ridiculousness of the whole dufflebag situation. As a matter of fact, I thought the whole thread was developing quite nicely. Just some people having a little fun...geez, lighten up!
ScottA, I have made no personal attack on JeffH, and never have. Neither have I supported any alleged pesonal attack on JeffH or any other Renderosity staffperson. I have repeatedly offered words of support for them and appreciation for the site. Such efforts have ALWAYS gone unacknowledged. As one of the people in this thread, I resent your false accusation. You are wrong, very wrong, and perhaps owe me and everyone else who did NOTHING to insult or make fun of JeffH an apology. Furthermore, I have REPEATEDLY defended TammyC against conspiratorial claims. I believed her. You paint with an offensively broad brush, my man. Not to pick nits, but as mild as it may be, "bored children" is indeed an example of insulting name-calling. False accusations of personal attacks are even worse than personal attacks, IMHO.
"Hey, I didn't personally attack anyone" Your definitions of "Personal Attack" are different from mine. Harassing people. Regardless of the specific words being used. Is my definition of a personal attack. This is not how most of the Admins. see it. So you're safe to harass people at will. Your playground is safe.
"Every person in this thread has, in my opinion, made a personal attack on Jeff." LOL. Well, thank ye gods you are no longer here to administer discipline, ScottA. JeffH has permanently banned a member for the heinous crime of calling him a 'dufflebag' (the third and fatal occasion wasn't even in the forums!). If other members feel this is a preposterous overreaction and wish to rip the piss out of the situation with humour, and within the TOS, I guess JeffH and the other admin are going to have to ride the 'storm' for a day or two. Somehow I think they'll cope with these 'personal attacks'. But then if they can't cope, maybe describing their collective performance as shameful isn't a particularly good idea on your part. After all, you've already had one recent warning...
"Well, thank ye gods you are no longer here to administer discipline" That's quite an understatement PJF ;-) Things would most certainly be much different. What you are doing here is a variation of DingDongDitch. You start a bunch of trouble here. Then you all run away to PoserPros and giggle like school girls about it. If you read it again. Jeff asked him if he was attacking him. And VS repaeated it. He was asking for it. And you all know it. DingDong....RUN!!!!!!!
All I can say is this: Scott - quit trolling. Holding mods and admins accountable for their actions (even through satire) is not a "personal attack." If I were to launch a personal attack, you can trust me in that it would be in a clear and unconfusing manner, in which even the dullest and densest reader would recognize it immediately. A second sticking point is the fact that you speak as if you are disappointed that the "children" run the "playground." I hate to break this to you, but the majority of those "children" are among the most profligate spenders at the RMP, and make for a good chunk of the revenue base. If the PTB here keep things going as they are (esp. with competition like PP rising almost daily in popularity and membership), the next few months will be interesting to say the least... /P
OK, I went against my grain and deleted my repost to ScottA in the light of VirtualSite's announcement. I happily repeat the bit about supporting JeffH in his closing down of that thread in the Poser Forum, and of keeping crap out the technical forums in general. That is good policy. And the admin here? They're just a bunch of... ...flowers. ;-)
I didn't demand an apology, but I will suggest that it would be the correct, honest, and adult thing to do in light of ScottA's offensive false accusation. Even if "personal attack" means "harrassment" to him, it's still a 100% false claim in my case, and in the case of at least a few others whom he smeared by including "everyone in this thread." I don't appreciate harassment of this site's administrators. I have been "cyber-stalked" as the result of political disagreemetns on Usenet in the past, which included anonymous death threats left on my home answering machine. It was a frightening, infurtiating, terrible experience. It was serious harrassment. I wouldn't wish it or a milder version of the same on anyone. I'm a respectful person who has never harrassed anyone. In fact, it frustrates me that Renderosity members can be so unappreciative and negative at times. At present, I and others have been smeared by a disgusting false accusation made by someone who is literally being hypocritical regarding site negativity. I am not so pretentious or offended as to "demand" an apology over a stupid incident like this, but it is my very strong opinion that ScottA owes one to everyone whom he has insulted with his unqualified blanket assertion. It was dishonest and incorrect in its scope. That is a fact, not an insult, not harassment. His "playground" remark only extends the insult. Hopefully, he'll be able to consider this calmly without resorting to yet more condescending insults. This is an obvious example of the pot calling the kettle black. Besides, JeffH appears to be perfectly capable of handling his defenses on his own. If someone wants to pretend that I've harassed or attacked ANY Renderosity staffperson, they're simply being dishonest. It has never happened, not even, in spite of possible appearances, in this post.
Hrrrrmmmm...... By your logic, Scott: Boycotting a business you have a disagreement with the policies of - is a personal attack. Going on strike against a company - is a personal attack. Satire against public or private figures - is a personal attack. Political cartoons - are a personal attack. Editorials against a policy of a business or political figure - would be a personal attack. Questioning the actions of any authourity figure - is a personal attack. Stand up comics political and business joke routines - would be a personal attack. Expecting accountability of business, political or public figures - is a personal attack. Effectively making any sort of critique of the actions of any administration would be a personal attack. Damn good thing the TOS isn't nationwide - Jay Leno'd be in a world of shit. Even more if he were actually funny. ;] "Oh there once was a mod who ran poser... Whose comments were always a dozer. He goes off in a huff, Whenever things get too tough. _________________________ " Needs a last line. ;]

Scott, if the thread hasn't been locked, it hasn't ended just because you say so, but nice try. I guess you could have it locked. Your use of the word "sorry" doesn't appear to be a sincere apology, but rather yet another condescending remark, especially considering that you couldn't leave it at that. Still, I'm not going to drag this out past this post unless I'm mischaracterized again. Does anyone appreciate being insulted, condescended to, and lied about? Didn't think so. The sad thing, Scott, is that I tend to agree with your complaints regarding site negativity, but can't help seeing that you've contributed to it. "Please proceed to the next doorbell." Puh-leeze. Howzabout you do the same with the false accusations? Or better yet, aim accurately so they won't be false. Thanks for your time. Here's to better days for all of us. By the way, I forgive you. :-)
Ok, We don't realy want to go down that road pepole. Lets play nice... When threads start getting to the point that members start pointing fingers at others we have to step in a lock them.

Isn't Samsonite that guy who got his hair cut by Salmonella and then brought all of the Moneylenders down on top of the Temple?
