Hi Guys :),

I'd like to make things clear with everyone on what's been going on in the forums lately and I'll try my best to have everyone see what's happeneing from my end since I'm being hit unfairly by someone well known in the Poser community.

I do respond fully to all my customer's comments and enquiries, and all my past customers who have written to me CAN tell you this which is something I'm happy to say :)

Recently, someone I know (mentioned above) made a purchase of three items from my store and I knew something was going to happen right from the start:

She first contacted me last November when I started modelling outfits for fun with Cynthia. She wanted me to join her website and create outfits for her to sell on her website (3d-arena). I agreed. I've been at Renderosity since 1999, I thought why not try out her website, have some fun and make a buck or two :)

As most of you know, I have a problem - Cynthia isn't based on Victoria but Posette. Cynthia's clothes wouldn't fit Victoria unless you're an advanced Poser user and know how modify it.

I asked her if her store could help purchase me a copy of Victoria 2 from DAZ to help me model for her website. She contacted Stormrage and they agreed but they were hesitant on this since I was a total unknown to them. After several e-mails, I felt things were dragging along too long. It looked like they weren't going to agree soon, so I modelled my first outfit "Lady Dark Mage" for Posette and placed it at the Renderosity Marketplace instead.

Apparently she and Stormrage were burned by this - especially with the naming of my first outfit "Lady Dark Mage" - which is close to the nickname of the mentioned person. You you understand now that things were simmering in the background waiting to explode. By selling at Renderosity and not at 3-d arena, I have lighted their fuses and they were fuming mad.

Then came my seven outfits at the Renderosity Marketplace and now number 8 with me working with Renapd on Princess of The Wastelands. It took us almost a month to complete the outfit and you bet, we both tested it thoroughly as best as we could. I use an old 1999 version of Metacreations Poser 4 (without the latest updates) for testing but I prepare my outfits with ProPack. I'm used a Duron 1200 with 516MB RAM to create my outfits.

We didn't find any errors (believe me, when someone with Renapd's experience okay's it, then it IS okay) We then sent it to the Renderosity Marketplace for testing. The testing team is headed by JeffH. Believe me, the Renderosity Marketplace testers are REALLY into details. One tiny error and they send the entire packace back to you for correction. The Princess of The Wasteland outfit passed the Marketpace testing without issue - especially since Rena made all the final preparations and coding to it. It takes up to a week for each outfit to be tested by them before they approve each of the outfits for the Renderosity Marketplace.

So it could be said that the outfits were well tested by all of us before release.

Then again there are somethings that slipped by all of us even though we do our best. As far as JeffH has told me, there's two small things that were discovered about a month later so I'll be honest:

  1. There's an extra line referring to an unrequired file in the Gothic Corset. If you load the outfit, it just gives a missing file message and that's all. The outfit renders well and textures show up with no problems. You could see for yourself all the beautiful renders at the Poser gallery of the outfit. Check out this beautiful one in the Gallery "White Rider" by Alchera:

http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=294593

This line slipped by both me and the Renderosity Marketplace testers as we were preparing the outfit, but it dosen't stop or intefere in any way from rendereng of it.

  1. JeffH just told me about this recently. All the files for my outfits were prepared in the English version of Poser. Users of the English version of Poser wouldn't encounter any problems but users of the German version might encounter problems due to the Poser directory names being in German. Rena and I corrected this and we made sure our German friends would be able to enjoy Princess of The Wasteland without problems. Hobbes who is from Germany has just made a beautiful render of Princess of The Wastelands "~~ Latina ~~ Wastleland" at the Poser Gallery:

http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=329797

I do try my best to respond to each and every question that customers have regarding my products.

In the above mentioned case, I replied to her in less than an hour after receiving her e-mail! (Total time exactly 1hour and 34 minutes from her end to mine - how's that for fast?)I didn't know how to solve her problem with the Gothic Hotpants so I immediately contacted Clint with the details and told him and JeffH of what happened between us in the past. Since the marketplace testers had also tested the product, I was hoping they could help me out.

I was hesitant to write much in my reply to her, Especially due to the way she behaves in forums in the past, and since it might WORSEN our past problems so I made my reply short, you could read my reply below this message. I'm posting the entire e-mail as I have been entirely truthful and have nothing to be afraid of. The second reason is because Rena alerted me to the following message that was posted by you-know-who at the Store Contact Forum:

http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?ForumID=12374&Form.ShowMessage=1089827

You could check the time of her post and the time on her first e-mail to me. She was already acting jumpy already before I could reply to her. Another reason my reply was shory is that I was still waiting for JeffH to reply to me with some help. What if I had replied "Uh sorry, I dunno" I'm sure you'll get another MULTIPLE posting at the Store Contact Forum with a creative headline from her like "Look Everyone, Another Stupid Merchant" and she'll go on,and on and post MULTPLE messages saying that I should stay at home and knit instead of creating products for the Poser Community.

Now that you know the background with this I'll post the e-mail that she sent to me and you could see that although my reply to her was short, I was polite. I received her email on Thursday and JeffH had barely the time to get back to me, when you-know-who posted the following at the Store Contact Forum:

http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?ForumID=12374&Form.ShowMessage=1092434

  • barely 24 hours after she came around with her problems on Thursday. God knows that JeffH tried his best and raced back to me with a reply on how to solve the problems - I received Jeff's instant message just 3 hours ago when I woke up (yes, I'm 12 hours away from EST, English is not my native tongue but I'm not gonna lay down and profess ignorance with the line everyone outside of the Continental US frequently use whenever they get stumped - "Sorry, me English bad")

ClintH and JeffH must be both shaking their heads in disbelief with the way she's behaving - especially considering her standing in the Poser community. Clint was the one who alerted me to her juvenile MULTIPLE post at the forum. Hopefully Clint dosen't erase her message - it'll be fun to see just how exactly someone with her reputation behaves in public with fellow community members.

Both Rena and I DON'T plan to quit Renderosity OR the Poser community anytime soon and we'll be releasing our next big fantasy outfit within the next few days so stay tuned guys :)! - and rest assured we and the Marketplace Testers will give you 100% our best to ensure our products are error-free!

If you're still hesitant, just let yourself see the beautiful works of other using Rena and my past outfits at the gallery :)!

Thanks for reading. Have a great week guys and happy rendering :)!

Charlie,

I recently made 3 purchases from you, the gothic top, pants and the POWL.

SO far I am having immense problems.

The POWL is beautiful of course and I love the style and details, however
it
does not correctly fit a default vicki.

The top's abdomen area pokes through the belly section. The folds built
into
the sides cause folding or "crunching" when posed and the hip area can
disappear when the character isposed. I'd actually be surprised if
someone else
hasn't mentioned this.

I won't be using the cape more than likely it doesn't actually "move"
well.

As for the gothic pants - well they don't even show up when loaded, it
says
they are there. This may very well be due to the fact that you put the
obj file
into the character library, that will cause these issues.

In order to use the Gothic pants I have to load the pants prior to the
model
and frankly that isn't acceptable as I create my scenes before dressing
the
character, and its a simple fix regarding the obj most likely.

The Top throws a "cannot open error" that points to a file in
character/000
sale/02prevo2top.obj but then it opens fine - again pointing to an
incorrect
geometry file or due to the obj being in the wrong folder.

Mind you I like the sets but would like to see these issues fixed rather
than a
refund. They do not work correctly as is - but the styles are fabulous so
I'd
really like to keep them if they are fixed.

I can send you screen shots of the issues I'm having if you would like to
see
them.

(o.0) hrm... you know... sense its one tiny little morph thats messing up the outfit, why not stick in a little note pointing out the morph that causes the hip issue? if it hasnt already been in your files readme? just a thought ;) the first time i saw it was when it was posted in this forum, and the hip thing looked really fubared but looked like a vicki 2 thing on vicki 3 (something i had to fix with some stuff i was converting) but it turned out just to be a hip morph. Another simple solution - Victoria Hip Fix Pose - just a really simple pose file that contains the dial thats messing it up in it, and sets that dial to 0 :) that would solve the issue really quick too :) course a little note in the readme ;) anyhoo just some thoughts, not taking anyones side on this.

Baron_Vlad_Harkonnen ( ) posted Fri, 07 February 2003 at 11:14 PM

Hi Caleb, the above simple instructions are in the readme of one of my previous products. Rena probably missed to include it in the POTW readme, but what is really disheartening is you-know-who's decision to go ballistic in public just over 24hours - even as JeffH was corresponding with her. I just received Jeff's IM about how to fix this a few hours ago and was about to contact Rena telling her to include this message in the readme when Clint contacted me about the mess she had already created at the forum. Rena must be awake right now, and it'll be just a matter of hours before the problem is solved! So explain to me caleb, what is the complete reason behind her over-reaction in public the way she is right now - even as Clint and Jeff are trying their best to help her out.

judith ( ) posted Fri, 07 February 2003 at 11:27 PM

Just one question as a potential customer Baron_Vlad_Harkonnen .... are your geometry files located in the geometries folder? I've had your stuff on my wishlist for a bit know... ever since I saw the Royo outfit. Looks like some great products. I am picky about file structure though, which is why I responded to the thread.

Juidith, gost my post just above seems real awkward below yours, the files are completely in their own geometry to help non English versions of Poser use them. Thanks for asking :)!

Any more question guys, my cofee pot is still full :)!

judith ( ) posted Sat, 08 February 2003 at 12:05 AM

I would fix the readme, as I see you have the others so that the buyer knows that they have to zero the soften hip morph for sure. The geometries look to be in the correct folder, it looks like I've musinderstood and after re-reading the thread I see that a different product was being refered to. As far as the crunched mesh, I've seen two totally different renders, LSM's show a deformation, Jeff's doesn't. What's causing it is anybody's guess. shrugs I think LSM is truly having problems and is not starting trouble for trouble's sake.... what would be the sense in that? Hope you both can come to an understanding.

ElectricAardvark ( ) posted Sat, 08 February 2003 at 12:41 AM

Well, for what it's worth... 1) I didn't think LSM was throwing flames at you at all. She was just trying to get a problem resolved. And i think that she was being pretty light hearted about it all, considering she just dropped a wad of cash for products that didn't work the way she thought thet would...regardless of who's at fault. 2) Please stop the shameless plugs for your products in the middle of trying to explain your position. It's tacky. ~EA

Baron_Vlad_Harkonnen ( ) posted Sat, 08 February 2003 at 1:06 AM

Hi ElectricAardvark, for your information, tacky shameless plugs seems to be the 'forte of miss you-know-who currently. Due to her influence with the Poser Community, I'm sure I'll soon be publicly famous at 3-d Arena, the Merchant's forum, here and who knows where else? The UN Security Council too maybe :)! Someone better get their facts straight soon, cause Mr.Blix and Baradei is gonna drop by soon and we wouldn't want to find something 'ballistic' over there now do we? Oh yeah, that's not 'wad' you think ElectricAardvark. She just purchased herself a couple of front seat payback-tickets to watch her thugs like Stormrage and Co from 3d-arena lynch me cause I 'jilted' her.

judith ( ) posted Sat, 08 February 2003 at 1:16 AM

I haven't even see Stormrage's involvement in any of these threads, and see nowhere that LSM has attacked you in any way. All she's asking for is a solution to her problem and has stated many times how much she loves the outfit. I think you're being unfair and have or are coming seriouly close to violating the TOS.

What we do in life, echoes in eternity.

pendarian ( ) posted Sat, 08 February 2003 at 1:24 AM

I would have to agree. The history lesson between the two of you was not necessary or even relevent to the thread. She has a problem, as a merchant I would think you would be concerned with helping her resolve it, instead of accusing her of trying to create problems for you. As far as bringing Stormrage into it and calling her a "thug" I think someone got banned not to long ago just for calling someone a "dufflebag"....thug is much more inflammatory I would think. I think you need to take a step back and just take care of your business and leave the personal agenda out of it at least in the forum.

Baron_Vlad_Harkonnen ( ) posted Sat, 08 February 2003 at 1:26 AM

Oh yeah, Judith, we'll update the product page and readme of POTW mentioning that users simply need to zero the hip morph on Vicky. As far as who's render to believe, I think it'll be safe to trust the ones with more experience in this - the Renderosity Store testing team headed by JeffH. If fact they are the ones who came up with this info for the readme - instead of Miss-you-know-who who used all of her years of clout, experience and leadership within the Poser community not to help but to publicly bash someone whom she has an OLD, simmering personal problem with.

Baron_Vlad_Harkonnen ( ) posted Sat, 08 February 2003 at 1:55 AM

Judith, you could check the merchant forums if you are one to see those totally biased messages by miss-you-know-who's sidekick. Pendarian, I'll take back the term 'thug' and swap it with 'friends' if your're troubled with it. Also I'll put a stop to the 'history lesson' if it makes you happy - now that everyone knows about it. I'm just glad I'm keeping the issues to this forum and not going to the length and breath of the Poser community recruiting a ton of 'friends' just cause of an outfit?! To get as far as getting her friends involved just cause of an outfit is totally overkill, I'm sure you'll agree. I just can't believe the stunt she pulled off here while she had the complete attention of Jeff and Clint to her 'plight'. I've always been helpfull and answered all my customers queries in the past. Unsure and not knowing how to solve some of the problems, I'll refer her problem to Clint and Jeff. But the question is, how do you deal with customers who go ballistic just over 24 hours - while people like Clint and Jeff are all around her, trying their best to help her with her problem? Now that Jeff told me what to put in the readme, I guess the problem is solved. Rena will update the readme later so I guess I'll end and bury the hatchet here. More coffee ?:)

Baron.. I think number 1 you had better check your facts. And number 2 I demand a full retraction from you . I have NEVER worked for 3-d Arena. I am not a Thug. And I do NOT appreciate your slamming me int this post.

3-DArena ( ) posted Sat, 08 February 2003 at 10:03 AM

First of all none of this has anything to do with the product issues - good attempt at a smoke screen though. Yes I approached you because you werren't selling anywhere at all I offered you a position to earn 80% of your sales and I offered to get you victoria, I thought your work was fabulous. But I put a condition on that and I asked that you let us see a few models first before I purchased Vicki and possible Stephanie for you. You weren't interested in waiting for vicki and decided not sell at all. What did I care? I am a firm believer that all have the right to choose their own paths and business requires that you sell where you want to and where you think it will benefit you the most. Anyone who has seen me around knows that. I may have an issue if you'd "promised" an agreement with me - but you did no such thing so why should I be aggravated? I did wonder about LadyDarkMage but I didn't know anything was simmering - you never let on you were angry or upset. You had simply written a long letter when I asked about the conforming issue explaining that you weren't currently interested in selling anything as you were new to modelling and didn't feel you were yet ready and I responded telling you that if you ever changed you mind to let me know. Exactly what was simmering there? I thought everything was fine. We didn't email back and forth or anything, but I figured you weren't big on that as it took you a few days to respond to my question about conforming. Secondly get your facts straight - Stormrage has nothing to do with 3-D Arena, I don't know if she is even a member there, she never posts there. Tons of people don't sell at 3-D Arena lol am I supposed to hold a grudge against everyone of them?? Some of the nicest people I know don't broker there - doesn't make me fuming mad. As for you - you not wanting to be a 3DA modeller when I wouldn't buy you vicki is so low on my radar screen that I don't even notice you. It took me a while to even notice you had products in the store here. But since you didn't matter to me one way or the other I bought from yo because they looked cool. To say that the 'rosity testers are into details is a bit moot - members here know better than that and it is an attempt to validate what you have done. It was tested so well that the Gothic top throws an error message on load that asks for a nonexistent file - even Jeff saw this and said you'd have to fix it. Blows that theory. Furthermore most people know that P4 needs geometry files in tehgeometry folder - the store here doesn't require that - again blows your theory of well tested and detailed by the staff. Yes you replied quickly, referring me to Clint. When I asked if that meant you weren't going to fix it you referred me to Clint and Jeff. Not exactly super customer support. As for my "standing" in the poser community - I don't claim to have one and that doesn't matter to me. However I do have a reputation for upfront honesty. I am known to call it as I see it - probably drives the admins here crazy, but I don't back down from my beliefs easily. As for my "over-reaction" in public? I am not over reacting - I want to know if the public finds this standards from 'rosity acceptable? Is it acceptable that a customer has to move and edit files to get them to work for the program they are released for? The general consensus seems to be NO. The POWL has it's geometries in the correct folders - the gothic clothing does not. Jeff states that a default vicki is one with the soften hip morph turned off - aopparantly many disagree a default vicki is as loaded. If you don't know how to morph then just state in your readme that the soften hip morph is an issue. Now on to your personal commets - the best way to diffuse is to attack right BVH? "tacky shameless plugs seems to be the 'forte of miss you-know-who " Uhm where did I plug 3-D Arena?/ you and Rena mentioned it first. "I'm sure I'll soon be publicly famous at 3-d Arena" Not likely - we prefer to play with adults over there and your behaviour here is anything but professional or mature. I want items fixed (I havce said that I didn't want a refund, just the item to be fixed) and instead you talk about payback?? Watch it there child, I may behave myself online - because I do have a fair reputation, but make no doubts about it I can be a serious BITCH - it's in my indian and welsh blood. If that had been my intention my posts would have been seriously nasty and not praised your designs and concepts. Again you mentioned Stormrage - I don't even really know Stormrage - get your facts straight boy. Recruiting friends?? I asked in one other forum at PP because it is full of really talented modellers and has a learning forum. Where did I get my friends involved? By asking at PP if I was being unreasonable or if the majority agreed. And you keep forgetting we aren't talking about only one product here I am talking about 3 different products all of which had problems. I have never bought multiple items that had consistent problems from one vendor. Had it only been the POWL I probably would have dropped it. But it was all the purchases I made. I've read comments about slander as well - well guess what implying that my images are postworked or whatever you are trying to imply is slander - that is implying fraud and if I were to ever commit a crime of fraud I can guarantee you it would be for a far better reason than you. It is also slanderous of you to involve stormrage in your screeching and to say that I and my staff are thugs is a personal attack that I would expect the admins here to do something about. Though you will probably get away with it because it is against members/staff of a competitve site. I tried not to stay focused primarily on POWL but it's hard to show invisible pants you know? And the top issue is one that Jeff agreed had to be fixed. When one looks at all of these things it points to a consistency in your work.

Oh bTW I told JeffH at the time that I found his decisions to be inadequate based on the geometry issues and his belief that clothing doesn't have to fit a default "loaded" vicki. I furthermore told him I'd post it in various forums and I keep my word.

You all should take this to emails or some private form of contact because you may not realize it, but this is costing the following merchants money: Stormrage Baron LSM It reflects bad on all of you, including Storm, whom doesn't seem to know what is going on... It's just going to escalate and get worse, so everybody just make up and move on.... The arguing isn't going to solve anything, yanno... so there is no point to it... Must there be arguments everywhere I go ? Gosh...
