Subject: Two Thumbs Up For DAZ's Customer Service

jaybutton ( ) posted Wed, 28 May 2003 at 10:05 AM · edited Thu, 23 January 2025 at 9:42 PM

I have posted before on how grateful I am for DAZ's outstanding customer service, but they have helped me out again and I just wanted to publicly acknowledge them. About a week and a half ago, I downloaded some files from the DAZ site onto CD, but was so busy that I didn't have a chance to load them into Poser until two days ago. I don't know what I did wrong, but I lost all the files on the CD. The time that I could download the files from the DAZ site had expired, so I could not get them again. I called up DAZ, yesterday, and explained what happened. Within twenty-four hours, they saw to it that I had all my downloads back. They turned what was a really big pain in the neck into a pleasant experience. Thanks again, DAZ! Jay Button

Had a similiar problem with a non-working weekly freebie a few days ago. Tthey even helped me out with this though the freebie was on their website about three months ago. DAZ you guys do great business! Both thumbs and big toes up! ;) Phil

I agree Jay. DAZ is A #1 when it comes to customer service. Especially when someone like me does stupid things all the time and they have to fix it. LOL.

I got a very friendly follow-up e-mail from their tech guy this morning making sure the Plat Club discount was working since I'd e-mailed them on Friday. It was a nice gesture.

I called because I had made a purchase, and the download links weren't showing. While I was still on the phone pleased to have made contact, I refreshed and they had already reset my downloads! Fast courteous service indeed. :)

Well, I've had nothing but the best of experiences with DAZ customer service in the past, but right now I'm extremely frustrated, having recieved a polite but irrelevant canned response that didn't answer my questions or offer any sort of solution. I believe the Mil Dragon tack, which includes some poses, would help me with a render I'm working very hard on right now. The product page claims that there are a total of 24 poses; 12 included in the set, and 12 free poses. There is a link to the main dragon page, the implication being that that's where one would find the alleged 12 free poses. They aren't on that page, nor are they in the general free area, unless I'm being a total dunderhead and can't see something right in front of me. Does anyone know where the claimed poses are at the site? If this is a retired freebie, they really should change the ad copy, because as it stands, so far as I can tell, it is false. TIA for any help. Yes, I did try going to DAZ first, and yes, I was polite.

Charlie_Tuna ( ) posted Wed, 28 May 2003 at 9:10 PM

Could be that page got lost during the changeover to the new store?

Why shouldn't speech be free? Very little of it is worth anything.

xoconostle ( ) posted Thu, 29 May 2003 at 12:00 AM

Charlie Tuna, I don't know, because I only became interested in purchasing the dragon tack since the changeover, and don't have any memory of what the free dragon poses were, if I ever saw them at all. I did mention that I was sympathetic to the fact that the change has created ongoing problems, but the one response I've received thus far after having sent two e-mails said nothing more than something along the lines of "we care about our customers' feedback." I'm sure that's very nice, but actions do speak louder than e-mail templates. :-) Oh well, I've totally changed the render I was working on to do without. Still, if DAZ comes through, I'll buy the tack just to show my support for actual customer service. (Forgive my slightly bitter tone. I'm frustrated about this. I guess I rained on a two-thumbs up thread.)

I found them, they're an ex-freebie here's the page. The text of the releated pages need to be edited

Even ex-freebies are sometimes still in their files. Reba very kindly hunted up the eagle's nest for me last year and I guess that enough other people also had asked, so they felt it worth tucking into the archive (and possibly helped convince them to have an archive section). These useful little items will see the light of day again when they have other products which are go-withs. For example, if they were to sell "imperial dragon paraphernalia", the odds are good that the poses to show off all that splendor would be available, too. ;^) In the meantime, a polite request saying that you understand that it is a former freebie, but you'd REALLY like it, just might lead to a download link. They are awfully nice people. Carolly

I've bought and DL'ed a quadzillion things from DAZ and never yet had to contact customer support. So I don't know from first hand experience how it is. But on the other hand, the fact that everything has always worked the first time round is reassuring. :] Fish

I know some find this sort of thing silly, but I deleted my most recent comments in this thread because my issue has a happy ending, and because I don't want to cause needless bad feelings. AnneMarie at DAZ responded very quickly to my most recent e-mail on the matter, and offered a kind solution which has made me a happy camper all over again. I owe it to DAZ to say this publicly since I complained publicly, which I usually don't do regarding biz matters. As it turns out, there were mere points of misunderstanding. These are busy times at DAZ, so stuff happens, as in any business. I for one will do my best to be patient, understanding, and not get so hot and bothered over small things in the future. I want to thank everyone in this thread who encouraged me to keep the faith. DAZ does rock. I was wrong to doubt it so easily.

Now all you have to do is extract your foot from your mouth :-)

I'm the type who tends to feel guilty after complaining, but in this case I felt justified. A-M was totally cool about it and didn't make me feel like I was being an ogre at all. She didn't know about the fact that the formerly free poses had been moved to the marketplace, which I'd failed to consider. The main thing is that a happy resolution was reached. I'm grateful and humbled.
