Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 10 10:34 am)
Wish there was one. I've tried useing simple text like manual says you can. But it never works. You can always use the group tool to spawn props(break all the obj groups into seperate objects) and then parent them right in the hierarchy editor. Click the Create Figure button and you'll have the figure in the figures library under "new figures".
so it can be done that way lynn?I had done that but than when I try setting the joint parameters it seemed impossible to imitate the behaviour of an already made poser figure,I suppose its just about trial and error.Plus do the spwaned props need to have textures applied to them before they are parented to one another, I have a model already assembled in your suggested way but I can't apply textures to it now. I am weary of using another program ontop of all this(VPC)I wish I could do all of this in just one.(AM2000?Hmmmmm?)
I use UV mapper before I import the obj. file. You dont have to apply textures before hand. Its good to apply materials before breaking it up so you have something to apply textures to. Saves time rather than doing each part seperate later. As for joint parameters-That takes time. If you name all the parts correct like the manual says on page 306 you can use the standard rotation order button on the figure (helps) and you only have to do one side of the character. Then semetry the other. I have Virtual PC myself. I hate it. Like working in slow motion.
