Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 17 1:08 pm)
When you buy Poser 4 you get the standard models, Posette and Dork and animals and kids...but not Vicky 1, 2 or 3...you must get them from Daz, also Michael 1 & 2 and soon to be released 3. Well you got a really good modeling program so go with that to create models, read alot of tutorials like PhilC's to get you going. Other software, maybe UV mapper if you need to do texture maps, but I think you can create them in Cinema 4D. Sharen
Daz is at http://www.daz3d.com/ PhilC's website is http://www.philc.net/ You can export from Poser as an .obj file, I don't know C4D but I assume it supports .obj format? Be wary of using any Daz figure as a base mesh to make your own from. Their EULA is pretty restrictive in terms of redistribution.

Cinema imports obj:s fine. Poser obj:s are very small though so it is easier to handle them in Cinema if you magnify them, and then shrink them again if you want them back into Poser, try a factor of 1000. Just for inspiration go to Poserworld (link above) and take a look. I think that all those things are modelled in Cinema. This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience. Hi, I wasn't quite sure which forum I should post this on (Cinema 4d or this one). I have Cinema 4D R8 with add ons but I don't know whether I need to buy Poser. I heard that the latest version is not very good, but version 4 is better. When you buy Poser do you get the models with it eg V3. and could I make amendments to these models in Cinema 4D? I know it's good to make your own models (which I am making an attempt at!) but I would like some of the Poser models. What are the tools that I will need to buy apart from Poser itself. I am interested in making my own clothes. Cheers
