LOL Steve, you mean you are allowed to sleep??? BTW - I've renewed on the Annual Plan and no $30 voucher, only the monthy $5 one. You guys definitely need to look at that I think, because I'm not the only one where it's not showing up...

I just don't get it. If you joined a MONTH ago... why would you want to pay for yet another year NOW? I just don't have that kind of money, sorry. I must admit I feel a little silly... I could have just waited and got even more free stuff. Not that I'm not satisfied with what I got in the bonus pack when I signed up. Not at all. But it should be a really really big thing to make me drop another 70$ (which I don't even have) just to renew now. Hmm... and I haven't even got the Daz newsletter :o( neither a normal one or a Platinum Club one, if they differ...

I'm still not clear on the new expration date..is it 1 year from the current expiration..or 1 year from when you resign up??? and it sounds like if you sign up for the monthly renewal, you actually get 14 months ????

The new expiration date will be one year from your current expiration date NOT a year from the time of purchase. There's a bug that has caused this to happen on some orders we've seen, and we're working on it, but the vast majority seem to be getting there expiration dates extended without problems. Thanks, Steve Kondris

For those who are interested I figured out last night exactly what the differences are between the valued prices of the items and what it would cost you to actual buy the items if you are a platinum member. The low down is as follows: VALUED PRICE: $832.18 (The Skeleton at its original price) FULL PRICE: $752.18 (Current site prices no discount) DISCOUNTED: $453.85 (All discounts applied) Please excuse these numbers if they are a little rough I am posting them primarily for comparision and to inform. Anyone who wants a copy of the spreadsheet can email me for it at gwright@donbellsigns.com Hope this information helps you evaluate the DAZ offer more completely. Thanks

Steve, Thank you for your comments and trying to clear up the confusion some of us have. I'm sorry about repeatidly commentng on 57 items. The bonus pack was not why I rejoined and I must remember to think before I post, my bad and I appoligize.

Ok....I took the challenge and "re-upped" through PayPal. Since I don't have a bank account with PayPal, I used my visa credit card. Once the sale was final (which was immediate, by the way), I removed PayPal as a preferred payment option, as I'm not a big PayPal fan. I downloaded 63 individual .exe files. Of that number, I had previously purchased 7. All are described in my account as "Platinum Club Membership Renewal - Annual Plan". The Platinum Club annual membership is also listed. There is only a $5 voucher listed....not a $30 voucher. My membership was originally up on 11-30-03. My membership expiration date remains 11-30-03 instead of 11-30-04 as I believe it should now be. All in all, much easier than sending a check in the mail and now I don't have to think about it anymore :) I would like Steve to explain why no $30 voucher appears and why the account date hasn't changed.

Hanz ( ) posted Thu, 09 October 2003 at 1:50 PM

Ok, cool all, but: Do the download links expire? If so, I'll have to spend the whole weekend downloading... -Hanz

sandoppe ( ) posted Thu, 09 October 2003 at 2:02 PM

There is no expiration date listed. 7 downloads are provided for each. It's not too bad if you have DSL, but dialup will take awhile! :) Steve: I now notice that my new account expiration date has changed and is listed as 10/8/2004 at 17:23:31. So it would appear that I lost about a month and a half on my original annual membership. That's not too big of a deal for me, but it's not the way you explained it. Based on what you said above, it should read 11/30/2004 at 00:00:00. This could be a big deal for someone who purchased a membership 6 months ago and decides to take advantage of your offer.

Kelderek ( ) posted Thu, 09 October 2003 at 2:15 PM

Just renewed for a year, and the the downloads and the $30 voucher turned up immediately. The new Platinum Club expiry date is one year after the old expiry date, not one year after purchase date. Download links show no expiry date, just a "7 attempts" limit.

Kelderek ( ) posted Thu, 09 October 2003 at 2:18 PM

Hmmm, sandoppe.... Your new account expiration date did not behave like mine! I didn't lose any time, they just pushed the new date one year forward.

sandoppe ( ) posted Thu, 09 October 2003 at 2:27 PM

Thanks for the info Kelderek. Steve seems to have disappeared, so I sent an email to DAZ about the expiration and voucher issues. We'll see what Reba has to say.

LeRoy50 ( ) posted Thu, 09 October 2003 at 4:09 PM

Just spent$99.95 on the yearly renewal!Checked my account and nothing but the confirmation that I renewed.Gee, does that mean that you're out of the freebies?I guess the"annual plan"is the only way to get them.Tired of the double speak, tell people what they get period!!!

sandoppe ( ) posted Thu, 09 October 2003 at 6:07 PM

A yearly "renewal" is only $69.95 no matter how you cut it (unless you're somewhere besides the US and are talking the equivalent in your country). Check your email.....there should be confirmation list with all the goodies.

Dave-So ( ) posted Thu, 09 October 2003 at 8:44 PM

ok...I think its a bit clearer than mud now :) All I need is $69.....

Ok, we nailed the Voucher and expiration date bugs. Everyone who placed the orders that were messed up were given an extra 30 days onto their membership which from what I am told should cover any days you might have been shorted. You should all have been granted a $30 voucher as well. So, check your accounts again for me to confirm and you should see everything looking better for you. Btw, from now on most of these types of posts will take place in the DAZ|Forums, just fyi. :) Steve Kondris DAZ Productions, Inc.

Not yet Steve, the voucher is still not there. What is you store support forum called?

"Btw, from now on most of these types of posts will take place in the DAZ|Forums, just fyi." That's good and bad... good for this forum..maybe, at least for amount of posts here...but bad because its great to see what's up here...and in one place...now another stop on our daily surfing. Also good to discuss DAZ issues right there..so I would assume DAZ would see our complaints quicker :) Suppose we could throw in an attaboy once in awhile too :)

I've got to say this whole business seems so stupid to me. They've taken a simple concept and complicated it beyond reason. I've now renewed my annual with the monthly WHICH I DONT WANT. I would GLADLY waive the 30-day money-back guaranty if I could have paid for an annual by credit card!!! I was so mad last night that at one point I said to myself 'screw DAZ'. This is no way to make a customer feel who has already placed 254 orders. And to top it off there was a glitch in the order process last night so not only have I been charged for the monthly renewal, it's also listed as automatic and I can't get rid of it so I will be charged again when my annual expires in 5 days. Have to contact them to straighten that out. Seems to me you're penalizing your best customers. The vouchers go to waste because I already have the DAZ original items I want. I also have 90% of the bonus items already, the remaining ones I don't have for a reason....I didn't want them when they came out. Except the tuna fish. And all the items that were former freebies I already have since I've been a loyal DAZ follower since before it separated from Zygote and haven't missed one single week. I've always given DAZ the benefit of the doubt and thought their marketing and service was top notch. What happened?

You can attach a credit card to your PayPal account so you're basically paying by credit card...

Steve: I had the same experience Judith describes.....still no $30 voucher. My new expiration date is now 11/8/04. I still lose a full three weeks as the original expiration was 11/30/03, but am to worn out with this to even argue about that. I will try to find the suitable forum at DAZ and post this there as well. I think the forum at DAZ will help for quicker response and less jumping back and forth for DAZ staff.....but you may regret you ever created a forum before it's all said and done! :)

Spit ( ) posted Fri, 10 October 2003 at 1:54 PM

Okay. I'm all straightened out. Have my annual membership, they're cancelling my monthly, and I got the tuna fish. Guess I can go find something else to grouse about now :) I'm getting old. Sigh.

judith ( ) posted Fri, 10 October 2003 at 2:21 PM

Sandy, call the 800 number and let them know. After no response to any of my e-mails I called. Just got off the phone with them and they said they'd take care of it right away.

That "7 more downloads", I think is another "bug" :) Anyway.....I took your advise Judith and called them. They are working like crazy to correct the voucher and subscription date issues. They do know about it and are apparently checking to be sure that everyone gets the vouchers they should get and the correct amount of subscription time. Since this special offer just started, it might be good to just give them some time to correct it......talking to a "live human" always heightens my level of sympathy :)

judith ( ) posted Fri, 10 October 2003 at 3:42 PM

Yep, I agree, though the gal I'd talked to wasn't aware of the problem. Conversely though, it's very frustrating on the comsumer end to have questions unanswered for days, not being sure if it's been lost or being ignored. I was surprised they didn't put a store contact forum of some type in. The numerous questions could have been answered with a single post from a company representative.

I think you might have "enlightened her" Judith :) I know what you mean about no response. I run into that with my job....I telecommute and do most of my communication via email. When they don't answer you aren't sure if your message got lost, they are ticked off at you, or just plain ignoring you :) A store contact would have been wise.....and probably would keep one person busy most of the day! :)
