I think he/she means this page. That's another story. He said he had "found it with a wild navigation" To know where contest or challenge is, a simple way: 1. The link is in our header 2. At top of this and any Renderosity page is a link to ALL the contests and challenges running. It cannot be done better. Not necessary to go in the backroom. I have not always time to update it immediately.
Gebe:It cannot be done better. Not necessary to go in the backroom. I have not always time to update it immediately. May I ask why you have the back room and a helper for? Sometimes your short answers are a bit harsh. I have see many times (just check the back room) in your comments if there are such comments by moderators it would be nice if they where accurate. Thank you.
timefighter is just learning HTML and needs to exercise a little before he can work in the backroom. Be a little patient. BTW our backrooms links are as accurate as possible when I send a member to search for tutorials or free modelers or... But I'm not perfect and have not always the time to make changes immediately, as already said. When my short answers seems a little harsch this may be that I'm really out of time and have lots of work to do (I also have a regular work) and the above answer for where to find the running challenge did not need a long answer :-) Guitta
Well thanks for your input or excuse. It only takes a few moments to think of how to be tactful to others. I think it nice to be important but it is more important to be nice. I would think this would apply more so to a moderator that is representing a software program like Vue d'esprit. When my short answers seems a little harsch this may be that I'm really out of time and have lots of work to do (I also have a regular work) and the above answer for where to find the running challenge did not need a long answer :-) Perhaps this should have been considered before you took on this great responsibility?
Rick, what sort of discussion do you start here? I dont think this is a good idea. Guitta has her personal style, you have yours, i have mine. And? To be honest, i love Guittas short and to the point way of giving information. I dont need the all over candy cream i see so often from support guys. Being nice but saying nothing. I want crisp, clear information. Full stop. When Guitta tells us that she is overloaded with work right now, then it is more than honorable that she takes a little time to answer questions here. If you have more time right now, fine. But no need to blame others that dont have the same amount of disposable time. Sorry to be so direct, but fairness is something i always will fight for. Walther
One day your ship comes in - but you're at the airport.
I may be new here and offend, but I've been offended too by this. Politeness and courteousness are not always independent of to the point. New people to this forum or to Renderosity may not know what a header or whatever else is.
Before you jump on me though for that, I also realize that Guitta is not American, so I have to take that into consideration. People from all over the world participate here and that is wonderful! Sometimes words that are coming across as harsh are not meant that way at all. Just a difference in cultures and the way things are said.
I don't think she meant it as being brusque or harsh, it just came across that way.
Do I want to the point in answers? Sure I do, I also hope for patience in those answers too, especially since new people read it. Sometimes, you can have both. I left the moderatorship with another group precisely because one of my fellow moderators couldn't seem to understand that not everyone was experienced with the program and sometimes it was better to be nice and take it slow than to lose people from coming back because of rudeness, even if not meant to be rude.
Just my thoughts for what they are worth.
