Thanks Nance, I finally found the vest tex (after going through a lot of pages). It's amazing what you find! I thought I'd pretty much checked out everything, but there were a couple of other things I'd missed. Will open it up and try it, but it looks good. Dreamspinner, I'd LOVE a digicam but can't afford it. I'm a photographer, so I should be able to do all this stuff. Problem is getting the material itself to shoot. I was thinking on a kind of gold leaf or foil (Also I live in the Italian Alps at 6,000ft so it ain't easy!) There must be a site somewhere that has miscellaneous textures and fabrics. Will try posting the ques. on Computer Arts Forum too. Any info, I'll post it maclean
It seems to me that maybe a reflection map might work with the right sort of small twilled texture. Somewhere in the back of my mind is a gold lame that someone did. Now-- there is a painted sort of satiny dress texture that someone did (Tygerland strikes me right off) that might give you ideas for it--it was quite successful--I'll have to look for the dress texture--might be in Freestuff and it was for the halter top dress I believe. I have a digital camera but no lame to photograph--LOL--otherwise I would do it gladly. I bet Rena could give you a good idea for this--or might even have such a fabric in her repetoire. Diane
maclean, I was going to post what I came up with, but I took the winter reflection map of Dal's, changed it to gold as a 1000 x 1000 map, used the winter bump map and it was fairly realistic, altho' the bump texture is too large for lame'. I was involved in creating a smaller bump when I also got involved with Polyette LOL--but will try again tomorrow. I think that reflection map with a small twill-y type bump should come pretty close if you don't find anything else. Diane B
Thanks everyone for the help. I'm getting there. Yes, Nance, I could have used search, but it's amazing the things you find rooting through the Freestuff. moyra, I did some things in Photoshop woth noise and other filters, like chrome, but I want a highly-reflective dress, and a refl. map isn't working. Won't allow me to map a low-cut dress. Will keep trying. diane, I'm a photographer, but no longer have access to any fabrics. Was in fashion in Milan, but moved on to music and have lost my contacts. If you could do textiles I'm sure a lot of people would use them. Anyway, thanks again to all. maclean

I'm making a gold lamdress tex map to put on the Freestuff. Can anyone direct me to a site where I can find something to use for it? I need some kind of metal texture maybe. Have tried a few things in Photoshop, but not really happy. Thanks maclean
