Yesterday when I booted up my Bryce, this was what I saw. Does anyone know what this is and how it got there? I can't seem to get rid of it and it's driving me nuts. *thanks for looking*

You mean you got the Notes and the arrows???

Could be worse, could be raining.

SAMS3D ( ) posted Thu, 15 January 2004 at 2:47 PM

ummm...isn't that your vanishing points? Sharen

Ardiva ( ) posted Thu, 15 January 2004 at 3:06 PM

No..I put in the notes and arrows to show what I was referring to. I must be suffering from a very serious day of CRS. Because I don't remember seeing that before. Just the default plane in its place. Hmmmmmmmmmm.......

Ardiva ( ) posted Thu, 15 January 2004 at 3:12 PM

Ok..ok..never mind! I went to a Bryce website and saw the initial default wireframe...all is ok. You'll please have to pardon me as I quit smoking 39hours 11 mins ago. It must be the DT's. :-)

kimpe ( ) posted Thu, 15 January 2004 at 4:12 PM

You, (GULP), quit smoking. Good for you. I Know I wish I could, (Three Packs a day). Good Luck!

Ardiva ( ) posted Thu, 15 January 2004 at 4:28 PM

Well, kimpe, I just made up my mind that I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. I still think about it, but don't act on it, keeping busy as much as I can and eating lots of nuts and seeds when I'm not. The first time I quit I was up to 2 paks a day. Quit cold-turkey and was free of 'em for over 20 years. Then I got all stupid in my head about a year and a half ago and started up again. Only this time around a pack of filters didn't cost .25 like it did in the '70's. I need my paychecks for something better anyways, like buying some super neat objects for my Bryce. wink

Zhann ( ) posted Thu, 15 January 2004 at 5:15 PM

GOOD FOR YOU!!!! I quit cold turkey 30 years ago, don't miss it, and never looked back...you are so smart to stop, Ardiva. I wish I could get my hubby to stop, but it has to be a personal decision to change things in your life for the better...so what I say doesn't count. Takes a strong will to stop, bravo!!!! Note though, chew gum, nuts and seeds are calorie rich(trail mix?), or use sweet tarts, get a carving, something sour will put it down..... You go girl!!!

I'm munchin on sunflower seeds as I type, Zhann! :-) Oh, does it count that next to the seeds is a beer with tomato juice??? ;-)

Zhann ( ) posted Thu, 15 January 2004 at 7:12 PM

I don't think red beers are any -less- in calories, but I could be wrong...;] Although you're gettin you veggies if you use V8, instead of straight tomato juice, actually it adds some body to the beer, and tastes great, especially the spicy V8.....hmmmmmmm

Glad you approve...here...let me get one for you, pal! handing a glass of V8 Beer to Zhann Enjoy!

Quest ( ) posted Thu, 15 January 2004 at 7:34 PM

I think that's grand Ardiva! I stopped cold turkey 14 years ago and like Zhann, never looked back and never miss it either. More power to you!

Zhann ( ) posted Thu, 15 January 2004 at 7:35 PM

Ahh Zhann, You Know there is no Betty Ford Clinic for V8 abuse. Better not dig in too deep. ;)

About the disappearing camera, you have wireframe underground turned off, ( the blue line on the horizon indicate that ). Which makes anything below the horizontal line not visible. To make them visible or turn wireframe underground on, the option is right above the wireframe resolution option. On the other note I just quit smoking 7 weeks ago, after 35 years of huffing and puffin. Well if I had known it would be this easy to quit, ( using wellbrutrin ) I would have done it a long time ago. Who would have thought they would make a nicotine free drug to help you quit.

I quit smoking almost 18 yrs ago and I don't regret it one bit. However, I still have mild urges to smoke and I still smoke in my dreams from time to time. And it feels so real. I hope I never faulter and start up again. I'll try to just stick to drinking and Brycing as my vices. Also, the sunflower seeds were a must for me when I quit. I've heard they have some chemical or something in them that helps diminish the urge to smoke. Worked for me. :-D

Ardiva ( ) posted Thu, 15 January 2004 at 9:34 PM

Ahhh..thank you for pointing me in the right direction, Stephan. After clicking on the other wireframe buttons, it turned out to be the "Wireframe Shadows" thing that I had turned on. LOL!! Gosh...this was driving me nuts to keep seeing those 'shadows' there..like it was interfering with my concentration. Shadows now turned OFF. :-) Hugs, Helen

The one you've chosen can make you lose your friends, ruin your health, deplete your savings, make you experience blackouts where you can't account for hours lost, change your personality so much you even withdraw totally from reality. And I hear that there's some evidence that the DRINKING might be bad for you, too. :^) Bryce: there's a reason it rhymes with "vice". John

The lines are the shadow on the virtual ground. The plane at altitude 0. It's never rendered, but the plane is still there. The edge of the plane is visible as the horizon line in the wireframe. If I remember correctly the shadows disappear when you turn of the horizon in the wireview

Got it all taken care of now, Ray...and yes, tjohn...one has to look out for ones health while Brycing. LOL!!

So pleased to hear you've given up on the cigs Ardiva, and thanks for the tip about the sunflower seeds Ang. Come April I'm going to try the giving up of the ciggies too. I did it once before and that only lasted for 3 months but I think I may have a better resolve now. 8) Catlin
