MarketPlace Showcase F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 22 9:03 am)
have no scan (bt maybe i'll haveone soon). got to exhumate my saturn and games from my box. okay so drab measn dull/greyish. btw for the bikin and breast fabrics, did you just used a drab green, or also higlights settings ? i believe i saw a small reflect/highlight, as on the "satin" effect 3dz just shown for the upper arms (yellow or red...) i tried to "desaturate" some of my koli textures but used too bright/frank colors and they keep stayin "colotred" :) but now i'll now, for the next i'll doo... i wonder if using dark grey ambient color would work... will try
strange.. i would have swear there was highlight... meanwhile (and thanx for your reply, especially because my requests really sound dumb, or lazy), i found another way to drab my koli textures... i will try to make some "camo" like style too with them. nothing matching your's but considering how i make them, the results are really funny enough :) could not find any good picture of Burning ranger jetpack and i remember shape differs from one character to another, but i may hand draw one (i really draw bad) and even if it is not as in the game, i have an idea of the look i have in mind anyway... i do not model yet because i lack the basics and a simple/easy software to begin with. I so far tried only with basic props, it is a good training for start, i guess
A good easy modeller that's free and produces some good results you may be able to use:
Wings 3D, Cinema 4D (although I haven't been able to find the free build of it), Metasequoia LE, Anim8or
I, too, haven't fully learned to model yet. I know where I want to go with it, but getting there is distracting me. I dunno... I'll figure it out sometime. Just have to keep at it I think.
"note)The only drawback is if you decide to change gun pose from pistolgrip to buttstock - you have to start again at step one with a zeroed animedoll. You also have to delete the gun and reload it." No you don't. I just tested that, and it poses just fine, even if you bring it into the scene last and pose the doll first. The only pose that it doesn't fit quite right is the kneeling/firing pose.
Wow, love the Sentai Rougue. I myself, have just tried out Wings 3D and Anim8or...and I DON'T recommend them. They are finiky to use, and you can't even do the most simple things. In the previous thread I posted a Totally Spies picture, and they were all wearing their heart belt from the series. I modeled that in a program called Milkshape. The program is mostly used for making things for The Sims, Quake and Unreal Tornament, but is also very useful for poser models. It doesn't cost much, and is very easy to use. If you do decide to use it, follow what Insomniaworks told me. Only import parts of the anime doll, not all of it, or it won't show up. The back pack is looking good so far.
you could always use rhino like insomnia and nanoshi it looks pretty easy to learn to me,i looked at it for about 15 mins and there is a demo version at the rhino website, while you can play with it all you want, you can only save 25 times. i use lightwave 7 myself....but i'm a glutten for punishment i guess,it has a learning curve of about 6 mnths or so they say,...lol.

yeah it's expensive but so they all are, but I am using the trial version and I noticed a funny quirk with it everytime I save with it it goes down by 1 save till it gets to about 20 saves left then the next time I save it is back at 25 again! I have it installed at home and at work from seperate downloads from the same rhino site and both copies do the same. the only other thing that doesn't work is cut n paste but there is a copy command which does that anyway. I picked up using Rhino quite quickly but I am by no means an expert as I've been finding out, it might take me a couple of hours to whip an item up but it can take days to make it poser ready!
I feel like rumblestillskin. How long have I been away? I have had my head burried deep in getting the Battle Force Senbotsu package completed and submitted to the MP. Very impressive work everyone! Thank you compiler of the assistance once again on the trim thing. If I checked in earlier and saw what was going on, I would have asked you just to send him that finsihed version you made. I have a copy of it around here somewhere also. Next time we will just send it rather than explain how. Sorry about that Riddokun. I am seeing outragious geometries being made here by The3dZone and Nanoshi. I hope I still have a job tomorrow, lol. marty
yea the "figure creating" part is what i have problems with no matter how many times i've tried,i cannot make clothing conform properly, but i'm going to by all those markdc tuts in the marketplace and see if i can finally make it happen...lol lightwave retails for US$1595 so $400.00 really isn't alot to spend when you think about it...lol

@ Ridokkun : Presstu es jeune Padawan ! To hide a dial you don't wish to appear in the morph list : 1-Open the cr2 in a text editor (I use Zpad, sold at PoserPros : cheap, efficient, and specifically designed for Poser)(but Wordpad is even cheaper...) 2-Find the line describing your parameter (say "noTrims") It will read like this : valueParm noTrims { name noTrims initValue 0 hidden 0 3- Change "hidden 0" to "hidden 1" (without the "", of course). 4- Save your modified cr2 That's all folks. NB : in case you should wonder, yes you can make the dials hidden or not via a pose. An example of this is the pose I made (see link, shameless self gratification here). to hide all the fingers and toes of your characters while posing. And there is a pose to bring them back when you need to pose the fingers. (Mmm, I wonder if I checked it worked with MayaDoll, I'll have to check this).nanoshi woooow now the design really looks great, especially the back, we now see the two reactotrs/engine, there is good detail involved in shapes and volumes at the back, and the little wings "seems" to be movable (may i be wrong ? did you plan to make them posable / morphable ?) anyway it is just great !! congratulation... you really put much work into it, i am ashamed of even daring submit the design i had in mind now you finished this already :) insomniawork: well, the senbotsu pack ? did not see it in rmp :( i thought it was nanoshi releasing it as nanoshi posted most of the pictures with it... really am eager to see it and get it anywa, because it will serve a nice idea for another parodic character i wanted to do. compiler:thanx a lot, i did not think it could be so dumb as replacing a hidden 0 with a hidden 1 line.. too bad insomnia works was sleeping away, it could have saved me the work but no, it was interesting for me to learn it and try it myself. Will the whole thing be released as a rmp item or a free expansion pack of catsuit ? anyway, insomniawork: is there any trouble if i finish the switchable trim cr2 i begun/made and distribute it on my site ? if you forbid this, just tell me... i ask to be sure
Glad you like the jetpack Riddokun. as for Senbotsu, both myself and Insomnia have worked on it, I did the textures and Insomnia did the boots and gun, but I am new to the marketplace so I joined Insomniaworks team. Insomnia finally finished all the last minute changes and readme's etc. for the product and has submitted it to the market place today. So expect to see it within the next week. Finally :) Alot of work went into Senbotsu, most of which was done by Insomnia trying to turn my vision of an anime series into a reality, hehehe I know my requests for boots, pads, guns and all other assortments of ideas have kept him up late on more than one occasion and I'm pretty sure have given him headaches and even nightmares :) especially my visor lol. But I was playing with the finished product earlier and I must say I was pretty impressed with it, even though I did have a hand in it's creation.
well don't put yourself too much strain... if you cannot make it posable, it is nothing wrong. Maybe making the two wings sarate parented pieces/props with a jointparameter at the center of moving point ? oh so you worked on it on behalf of insomnia work ? very nice to hear. i don't think i am qualified for rmp myself, and i cannot do much, aside from texturer (and not very good on top of that), so many things to learn, so little time :( gee i have to wait for another week for it :( i wish it will be available soon, i want to make a grouped rmp purchase, and thee is another item (from batlab) on sale but until last of month only :( it makes me think also i have a lot of wip(pictures, morphs, characters.. i am crumbling nder work :), and yet couldnot find a decent way/thing to put a ear morph inside. I have an anime elf morph for anime doll since ages (made it on one of my first cellshaded pic, not even noticing crescent did one too at that time), and so far i kept it to myself because i lacked something "valuable" to insert it in...
Actually Senbotsu was my Idea, but I teamed up with Insomnia to make it for several reasons. 1) he asked me if I wanted to make textures for the catsuit after seeing my Battle Angel Alita. 2) I couldn't Model (and still can't really) and He could so it made sense to team up with him to make the guns and boots whilst I did the texture packs. 3) It is easier and makes more sense to join up with an established market 'brand' than to try and branch out on your own and possibly fail. 4) I actually had never considered making anything to sell in the MP, I had just recently aquired Poser and was just having fun making piccies, I just happen to love Anime and stumbled on to forum, and Insomnia obviously saw some talent in me somewhere :) hehehe so although Senbotsu is being marketed through Insomniaworks, and although Insomnia did put a hell of alot of work into it, it was my idea to make the Battle Force, and that is why you saw all the shots by me, I was posting you screen shots of the textures as I was making them. the project started out as a simple texture pack for the Catsuit and turned into that little bit more. lot's of bang for your bucks, and lots of blood, sweat and tears went into making it all I can assure you of that :) As did all the projects you see on this page by Insomnia, The 3DZone and myself. hehehe I'm the newbie on the team :)
well I do not intend to reach rmp myself, because i am not qualified, and i have already enough troubles making decent freebies too. What i lack most recently are p5 testers, as i don't know much about it and sometime, many people complain my stuff don't work in it. Don't even have the popular characters (v2,v3 etc) and am making things for them anyway, beingin the dark all the time :) kinda hard. it is good to see anyway that someone passionnate like you that just joined can inspire and push others to make some of his idea real, as in the first place, it was for your own fun you all started it, and seeing that then it will be shared among others, it sure can be nice... so far "modelling" is the largest lack i suffer from; as tyou may have noticed, i am trying to bring out from a video game things right to poser. In fact in the theory i am trying to bring out low polygoned/low textured things, and make poser clone of them, without any reverse engeneering or visual support for it. So until now i had to resort on praying and using whatever already available 3d items that matched my nees, but now i am stuck because i saw that a few minor alterations would be needed but i cant do any (tried with magnets, but sometimes magnets, until you master them, cannot be enough) :) problem is that trying to reach my goal force me to "spread" myselfand my time amoung many skills i have to leearn at a superficial level, while i could instead focus on one thing (texturing) and improve myself a bit in it and not worry about the rest :) you are lucky because this happened to you ...
Well you are welcome to post ideas here or send me any ideas you might have and i will try to turn them into objects, like I said before I need the practice and it's always better to have a goal in mind when opening up the program. Although sometimes things also just flow from you by accident like the cat sisters did from me, I opened up poser and popped anime doll in there and next minute the cat sisters where in front of me, I never started out with making them in mind. hehehe for the nurse one I even made a little hat lol.
well.. btw what will happen fr the jetpack ? suggestion: try to make the "wings" scalable in length a bit. The one you made exactly match the original design it was inspired from, but sometime i would think they are too long (even in the game), and some may need/want shorter ones :) for the movable wings thing, i think it is possible, at least with some knowledge. i have a few ideas but very basic, dun't know if it could work... anyway they are fine
The arms on the jetpack or 'wings' as you call them are in fact the propulsion arms of the pack with jet nozles on the end the wings swivel to give lift and thrust, that's what I gathered from looking at the in-game pictures of that burning ranger game. I also added 2 small stability thrusters on the pack to ensure the user remains airborne when performing maneuvers which may cause inverted thrust envelopes.
yes i know those "wings" are in fact holding the propulsors... but well, it is a matter of choice: either making a really faithful branger jet pack (already done as i can see) or only using it as a base design to make something a bit more original/personnal :) so maybe with two other main reactors/propulsors at the base of the pack it could be cool. anyway, i replayed the game (and it is aliased to the death), and saw that aside from those two wings/reactors, there were other propulsors as well, for longer jumps, as a pair of reactors are used for "lateral" move (the wings, flexibles) and there seemed to be another pair for main boost as i say it is just a matter of choice. what did you use to model yours ? rhino ?
I'm really liking all the material zones that went into the visor. Looks like Rayne likes it, too. And if she likes it, you know it's good stuff! Awesome job Nanoshi and Insomnia! I just happened to be collecting more swimsuits yesterday in DOAXBV before I saw Riddokun's new Woodpecker swimsuit. Thanks Riddokun!

Drab just means 'dull' or none shiney, if you can find a picture or 2 of the Jet pack I can have a go at making it, I can use the practice and it's always fun to learn on a real project :)
