Subject: generic faillure !!!!

not long time ago... i impotr an obp in bryce 5.... and when i delete it.... almost objects i had in my import objects... dissapear. But now.. when i try to import obp objects... it's mark generic faillure. Can i remedy to this whitout reinstall bryce 5. Because i have lot of stock to reinstall back... (sky... materials... ) Help please DonCorleone

You could just un-install the corrupt obp directories, create new ones and re-install them, instead of a complete Bryce re-install.

Take a look in the directory and see if there is a *.tmp file. Delete it if it is there and try again. Check my site - I have empty object and material preset files for download. You can delete the ones that are broke and replace with the empty one. Hope you didn't loose anything important.

the problem is... i cant import no more objects in the directories..... it's just tell me.... An unexpected error has occured ( generic failure ) and where it was objects before.... there are white screens.....

This might be because you have imported too many obj for one directory. There seems to be a limit after which the files corrupt. Not sure if this is your problem. If it is do what Peggy suggests, also create your own directories for storing objs.

Are you opening the same file each time you have the generic failure? If so, it may be that the file has been corrupted. I also had a problem with a texture file having a file name over 32 characters long that caused Bryce to give a generic failure.
