I've recieved an email as well, If it's the same news letter I recieved then it's basically just saying that Vue 5 is about to be released, it says:

Dear customer, dear friend,

E-on software is happy and proud to introduce you to the latest release of your favorite 3D application ;-)

It's now been over 3 years that Vue 4 was released. Three years of hard work to turn this new generation of Vue into the ultimate natural 3D environment tool! Last year saw the release of the professional line of Vue products, but this year, with Vue 5, we're introducing a whole new generation. Vue 5 Esprit will ship at the end of the month, and Vue 5 Professional before the end of the year.

You can start pre-ordering Vue 5 Esprit right away!

The list of new features in this release is bewildering; see for yourself:

  • Global Illumination and EasyGI

  • Global Radiosity

  • HDRI and Image Based Lighting

  • Procedural Terrains

  • Advanced Atmospheric Engine

  • Compatible with Vue Professional Plant Technology

  • New Material and Function Editors, Parametric Mapping

  • Metablobs Organic Modeling

  • 3D Text Editor

May be ask e-on for a chinese translation :-)... Sure you will find some people here that can translate the letter ... because many gallery users here speak german, french, italian, japanese, spanish , danish, polish, ... and all of them post their comments ... in english ... :-)

agiel ( ) posted Thu, 23 September 2004 at 6:17 PM

You forgot to translate the part that says Vue 5 is getting ready to go live on September 30th :)

dlk30341 ( ) posted Thu, 23 September 2004 at 6:26 PM

Thanks agiel..the most important part...LOL In addition, they left out about Vue 5 being able to accept VuePro Plants...so am I to assume that Vue 5 has the plant editor as well...like Pro???

I considered taking it thru an online translator, but then it might have spit out something totally out of kilter. LOL Could have put me in a snit ;)

Think yourself lucky you didn't get the mail 6 times along with two messages with "test" in the message body!! Granted they were all in english (my native langauge) but I thought that a touch overkill, considering I've already ordered the upgrade :oD

I got 2 English plus 2 test - presumably because I'm on record twice by buying D'Esprit and Pro. Despite clogging my inbox, I didn't hold it against them and just preordered LOL!

S'funny the first message I got I thought it was going to be telling me that. My order is in the "packing state" though I noticed, not sure it that means it'll be sent out early or not.

E-on must love me - they sent me 4 french versions of the e-mail. I still have not made up my mind. I have Vue4 and Pro version. I'm tempted to side-grade to Vue5, but everytime I get to the preorder page I don't click the Buy button. Wait, don't wait...

Your right, I probably will upgrade, but first I'm going to have to sell some of my programs I don't use or have not learned yet. For now, I am going to stick with Bryce, Cinema 4D (just got version 9!), Poser, and Vue. Between these 4 programs, if I can't do what I want then it's time to quit! Anyone interested in buying my copy of Shade 7 standard or Carrara Studio 3 (I will include Transposer and Power Pack plus a book on Carrara)? I will put them up on e-bay this weekend. I love both programs, but it is getting too hard to learn multiple 3D apps, so need to stick with the programs I know. Peggy

Wish I could sell my Mojoworld :(. That's one of mine that needs to go. But, I'm lazy & don't want to set up shop at E-Bay for 1 item LOL so I'm stuck. I'm with you Peggy, so much to learn & no time to learn it. I'm still waiting on my Shade to arrive.

Peggy_Walters ( ) posted Fri, 24 September 2004 at 10:40 AM

Yeah, I forgot about Mojoworld. It's not hard to use to make some really neat pictures, just takes forever to render. Making your own planets is another story...

LOL...I never made it that far...just messing around & the render was o.O...I don't have patience for that. I also found it to be way to mathematical for me...to many decimals etc. Can't handle that either. So to the dust pile it went. My tolerence for render time is overnight while I sleep...when I get up it better be done ;). With Vue/Poser have never had a problem with this. Not even going to touch Bryce till the upgrade comes out...bad render times there too.

Apparently an intern was actually allowed to touch a keyboard!!! ROFL I nearly spewed drink on my monitor when I read the notice!!!!

Beadazzle ( ) posted Fri, 24 September 2004 at 10:40 PM

After i got the email i wrote back saying" hey guys you care to translate"? To which they did and this is what they said and i laughed so hard i nearly had an accident. Ahem... We're very sorry for the slight confusion in sending messages yesterday. That's what happens when you let an intern try to actually do something useful ;-) Aside from the pathetic "Test" messages, the best part, of course, is that the French version of the Vue 5 annoucement was sent to the English-speaking people, and the English version was sent to the French... Please accept our sincere apologies for the confusion and any inconvenience. We've locked the intern away just to be sure it won't happen again! ;-) Here is the text of the message that you should have received: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear customer, dear friend, E-on software is happy and proud to introduce you to the latest release of your favorite 3D application ;-) It's now been over 3 years that Vue 4 was released.
