You've got me watching this one. "3rd-party" models don't usually interest me -- but Kaimira does. She looks promising. As for the material zones question -- I don't have anything to add to the things that others have already said.
can't wait to see the mapping, that's the kicker for me :0) pulls up a comfy chair The3dZone

Ok the update:
I'v been working on Kaimira's eyes, I thought a few ways how to do this. But I found this way would be better and u can use less maps for the eyeballs. The eyeballs will have it's own uvmap like victoria 3's and m3's. But there are far more material zones within the eyes. There are 8 material zones for each eye, So that makes 16 material zones for the eye alone. The reason for so many material zones is because the eye has a new MLS "Mesh Layering System". I wanted the eyes to be more customizable more then ever before. You always see one shade of blue or brow, some people like a touch of green or gold with silverish flecks? The Iris alone has 4 material zones so you can layer the iris colors to create muitable effects. The pupil u see will be transmapped for more added realism. Now there is a Pupil backing that will be mat black. :) Ohhh boy I can't wait to do eye textures to show u what u can really do with the eyes!
Material Listing for the eyes:
the Lacrimals has MLS option in place which allows and appears that the eye is connected to the lacrimal as it should be.
Here's a half fast preview, Mapping the eye was difficult because the stretching commonly seen in models. :(

Khrys: If you look in this thread, you'll be able to see a lot of the evolution of the base model. I wouldn't exactly say she's similar to the build of either V3 or SP. The face shots towards the end of the thread are great. Sera has done a really excellent job in creating a model that has a unique look to her :)LOL Xena, Sweety I want people to drool, speaking of which i am drooling! LOL me hands u a bucket for drool I will be working over time on kaimira. I did wanted to work 14 hours non stop, too many interuptions from my family though DO'H! Best time to work is at night when everyone is snoring. heh. :D The only bummer thing which will be a bit of a pain is the ammount of material zones, but it's really needed if we want her this customizable. :) Ok guys I am confused should I conform her after i do the uvmapping? or should i texture her? u make the call! :D Sera
conform, conform!!! I want to see her in poser texture or no texture...lol:0)

I think you should do the Poser Rigging before the texture. This way you will know where the mapping is stretching and if there is any UV Mapping adjustment needed to compensate. Once you are happy with the uv mapping on the poseable figure, then proceed to create the textures. And it looks great so far!

Stretching is casued when the UV's go around a surface. Right now it seems the seam is right down the middle of the figure which would mean a nasty smearing of textures along the center points. When they are flat they show as intended but as they go around a curve they stretch and smear. That is what "stretching" is sort of. Hope that explains.
Looks good from what little I understand. I would love to see a better figure than Daz V3/S3 out there on the market. What I'm looking for is a more realistic figure with full genital, hip, buttock morphs that can be put in any pose position without coverup of the hip/genital areas. The V3/S3 are good, but doing sitting or croutching poses hides any detail of the genital area or some buttock areas. It just won't allow you to make a real life human pose in some positions. Also, the Daz figures just don't have the required meshes in those areas. They were left out of the design. I would love to see someone come along and give us an alternative to Daz figures that are more detailed and real. Many of us have powerful computers with 2+ GIG of ram, fast processors, etc. waiting for something new. Also, I think it's high time we get someone competing with Daz so we get improvements from all parties. A sort of look what I did, now top this sort of thing. Your figure looks like an excellent start and I can't wait to see the final product. Keep up the good work and let us know when and where we can get it. Cheers!

Let me help u guys get what u want. :)

Hmmm, I just remembered that figures like Elle came with more than 1 version of the figure. You could have a figure with MLS and one without. The one without could be useful to 3rd party developers wanting to create maps and morphs for Kai. Here's my list of morphs: Stylized morphs Fairy morphs African Asian Hag Old Ear attached Lashes curl You're doing a great job :)
here's my wishlist - sorry it's so extensive. i don't figure on all of it, but a girl can dream. ? is for morphs that i'm not sure are even vaguely possible in the time frame. scaling morphs - as mentioned before muscle morphs (deltoids, biceps, hamstrings, etc.) full body ********* voluptuous (really curvy everywhere, including arms) boyish heavy apple heavy pear heavy hourglass sinewy defined muscles rounded muscles petite (small shoulders, thin body, short, etc.) amazon (wide shoulders, wide hips, tall, etc.) waif gaunt (using real references?) basketball player sprinter weightlifter boxer model centerfold ballet dancer hip hop video age morphs (20s, 40s, 60s) w/ thinning & thickening versions ?anime (short torso, long limbs, large hands & feet, tiny waist) head **** smile lines frown lines epicanthic eye almond eye craggy smooth (few indentions, less definition - not necessarily young) buddha wide nose (not bridge) nose rounded nose pointed nose turned up nose down nose hook rounded nostrils high cheekbones soft cheeks eye lid length eye depth eye size eye tilt doll eyes (for the shape, see muu's elis) square eyes long eyes round eyes wide eyes (opp of long) eye socket morphs cupid's bow lips thin lips (not just less area, but more perpindicular to the face) full lips wide lips ethnic morphs ************* african (multiple) san (calahari bushman) african american (multiple) south asian (multiple) japanese chinese (multiple) slavic indian (multiple) native american (multiple) german middle eastern (multiple) spanish mexican mayan body parts ********** pupil morphs iris morphs round neck soft chin pointed chin double chin wattle wide shoulders narrow shoulders rounded shoulders wide chest narrow chest round breasts conical breasts bra sizes (as you once mentioned before) high breasts smoothed breasts (like when a woman lies down, or stretches) breast motion morphs (multiple - maybe bones would be easier) rounded stomach toned stomach (multiple - especially the shape that's now popular and seen in videos, not just a six pack) small waist wide hips small hips prominent hipbones rounded buttocks wide buttocks flat buttocks long buttocks dimpled buttocks hip hop booty shapely thighs shapely calves thick thighs fantasy ******* elf ears (multiple) gills neck gills abdomen forked tongue animal teeth cat eyes talons hand talons feet vampire fangs needle teeth devil brows cat face demon face muzzle ?paws ?digitgrade feet (short, heavy thighs, ) ?comic morphs ************* no nose no ears no eyes no mouth spandex morphs (edges & folds to go with the materials)
the main thing i'd request is the use of real references (which you've already been doing). most of my problems with the v3 morphs have to do with them being more of a concept than anything even vaguely related to reality. also, the biggest problems emerge when you look at her from any angle besides the front.
cobaltdream: "also, the biggest problems emerge when you look at her from any angle besides the front." I couldn't agree more. What I wanted to do involved looking at V3 from several angles and required nudity. While I know some don't think nudity replication is an issue, I always argue that even if you pose your characters fully clothed you can't have a true replication of the human body without it. So, to make a long story short, I stoped my development of poses and a couple of items for V3 for this very reason. There's no way to make V3/S3 look realistic. Then I started to wonder why no one had ever given Daz any real compeition to their figures. Poser is capable of MUCH more than Daz has ever done or is likely to do. Then I found this thread and what was being done. WHOW, what a wonderful feeling. Somone that actually cares about what other want to see and putting their heart into the project fully. Seraphira has my support already!! :)
