Yes it happens to me quite often Jim.
Coloured bands or sometimes - like transparent double image. I am always careful before commenting because of it. Nothing clears it except to return another time.

I never have that here. Maybe try another browser? Could you link to the image you see corrupted?

well since I have no problems on this side, the RR server seems to be fine. I'd suspect your ISP or modem?

hi jim, kemal just called me on his break while i was reading this. he used to be a computer repair tech and he's pretty good about solving computer problems. he wants to know if you've deleted everything from your temporary internet files? he said if you've done that and you're still have problems, just reply back and let me know. he said there's a couple guys he knows who posted once in the Bryce forum who had the same problem. he said when he gets home he'll try to find that information for you. good luck! :)
There is many threads about this, and each time one of the mods or coords goes to see it,the image is fine. I believe it is just the connection to RR servers gets jumbled on a percentage of hits.I have never had this, but have seen the images screen capped and posted. My suggestion too would be to right click the image if it happens and go to the actual image url shown in the pop up menu you get... You could even try copying the image to your paint program to see if it is scrambled there if it really is an annoyance to you. Just suggestions.

jim, kemal suggests you do delete temporary internet files. then: 1. go to internet options 2. then go temporary internet file settings 3. then try to force internet explorer to check for newer version of stored pages every time internet explorer is started. Also, he says to look at the disk space reserved for your temporary files. it's right there on the same page. he says if it's ridiculously small (like a couple of megabytes), windows screws it up by compressing the images more and more. you wanna have it at 100 or 200 megabytes. i had a problem one time just with RR site. everything was totally screwed up. kemal did the above suggestions and everything worked fine again. hope it helps. good luck.
Looks indeed like a corrupted jpg. As far as I know IE does not recompress the images if your cache is small, that would mean the images you see would look worse if you view them again (high compression factor). Anyhow. It could be your ISP (or rather the proxyserver/cacheserver they use) that somehow has a problem with RR or has corrupted images in it's cache. In that case there's not much you can do about it. Since it happens in both IE and Firefox, you can pretty much rule our anything browser related.

I get exactly same as Jim - faults looking same as above example on random images. I have tried saving and opening in PSP result is the same. Yet I know others view same image and it is fine and I can return later and the image is fine.

ok guys, do you both have another computer so you can rule out the ISP theory? kemal suggests trying to change browser setting for automatic image resizing and smart image dithering. he says sometimes if either of these get corrupted in windows itself, it can produce scrambled images. in that case, the solution would be to reinstall windows. kemal has an extra video card, and he says if he were the one having these problems, he would just take out his video card and put the other one in to see if that made a difference. what a pain in the butt you guys are having. sorry.
