One method (brute lol) would be to use a plane, not an infinite one with the material applied per object not world mapping With 4Pro you could even 'bake the water plane' : gives 2 polys! Then you can rotate the plane and texture will rotate with it The other way is to rotate the texture itself, whatever the mapping mode or the type of plane. mainly by rotating/changing the value of the z component from wave function.

How do you rotate a waterplane in order to get the waves going in a specific direction. I've tried roll to no avail...I want my waves flowing from right to the left not staright ahead. This is a procedural mat. TIA :)
