lamb, you might want to see if someone (that has Poser and is willing to render) will make you some figures. See if they'd be willing to do a set based on some sketches you'd supply. i'd do it but i don't have Poser (very limited in the 3D department - more of a PS geek) doesn't really seem like an unduly request... but then, what do i know ;) hope someone's willing :) retrocity
Well, I'm not sure how to approach helping. I'm not sure where you could get such a thing as there isn't much of a call for it (as I know). If you are just wanting to practice (and aren't trying to find something to paint up and sell), you could frequent places where they are doing Work In Progress and pull the images down to your PC. But these wouldn't be legal to sell nor post as yours (though you painted on them). Otherwise, it might be a case of asking for some Poser people to throw a few quick renders your way. Maybe someone else has some ideas.
Thank you all so much for your help. The part of using someone elses was the problem I was concerned about. (The copyright issues). I did play with one and the gal knows I did, and I have never used it except to give it back to her, but I really enjoyed working with it. I just didn't know if it was improper to ask her to actually make me some. I will do that. She can only say no. I have looked on the DAZ site and was not able to find quite what I was looking for but I will keep my eyes open. Thank you for all the info. The Copyright issue was my worry at altering someone elses work as I know that is not legal. You have given me enough to work with now. Thank you.

There is some content with Studio. Also, Michael3, Victoria3, and Aiko3 are free at DAZ.Well i'm not sure copyright issues would arise if the person willing is supplying you a "nakid" figure. Otherwise Poser would be worthless in the "professional" and "commercial" fields. i've seen Poser figures used in newspaper illustrations all the time. it's not like you are taking someone rendered "scene" and modifying it or taking someones "texture" and tweaking it to post as your own for resale. if you want you can post the "copyright" concern in the Copyright forum after you find someone willing to make you some figure. to be on the safe side, ask for the standard "default" figures that come with Poser... hope it works out for you. :) retrocity
Yes, that is what I am looking for. This morning I downloaded the DAZ again to give it another try. I don't understand the program very well. I have managed to find the people this time so that is progress. I am in their right now, trying to move the body, but everything I try tells me I can't do that until something else is done. So I am having a good old time. But I really should learn to do this myself. I will keep tinkering with this awhile longer and if I make no progress I will follow what you mention about the Poser 3 and asking in the poser forum. Thank you again. Hopefully I will still have hair on my head the next time I post..lol..

If you need help with DAZ Studio, we have a forum here for that program, or you can ask questions in the forum at the DAZ site. They have a forum specifically for it, and the members are really helpful ;)Sitemail | Freestuff | Craftythings | Youtube|

Hi Morrigan, I think I might know you from Raven's. If so, wonderful to see you. If not, nice to meet you. I tried the forums on the DAZ site but the boards are all locked. (that is what it says anyway) BUT...good news, my playing again in DAZ I have managed to move an arm. I think I am buisness now. Guess I was giving up to easy. I am going to tinker some more and if I have trouble I will ask at the DAZ forum here. I was already reading the boards there for help. Thank you again. Lamb
Lamb, I originally started painting over my renders in PS7. I have Poser, Bryce,PS7. I'm presently spending more & more time using PS, & have also asked a few Sketch artists if I could use some of their pieces to practice with. The response surprised me, they were quite open with the idea. Daz studio is a great idea, it'll give you the base images you need. Check my gallery, if you have any questions please feel free to IM me. ICM

Ockham's razor- It's that simple
Thank you ICM, I took a look at your gallery and you do amazing work. I can only hope to someday be as good. I worked with the DAZ program all day yesterday. I don't find it very user friendly, but I did make progress. I managed to manipulate the body, and finally figured out how to save it so that I could use it in PS, only to learn that I have to "turn the lights on"..lol.. I find the DAZ manuel difficult to use in the sense that it just keeps linking you to other parts of it and it gives you a real headache. But I am not giving up although I did put it down for today. Perhaps tomorrow I will be ready to try again. Thank you so much Lamb

Not quite sure how to explain this, but I use Photoshop CS and I am very new to all this. I would like to work with a poser form in photoshop adding hair, clothes myself. But I do not have poser. Are there poser forms in various positions; standing, walking, sitting etc that are free to download that you can use? I have looked at the free stuff, but have never downloaded anything as I am not sure that it is proper, and I am not sure they would open in Photoshop. Basically I am wanting body stuctures with the facial features, so I can do the rest. So I guess I am looking to be educated on this area and to know if this is even possible.Poser is not something I am able to obtain at this time. I found DAZ to complicated.
Thank you
