Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 29 7:57 am)
Quote - and how do i get poser 5 to STOP searching for it when i told them not to?
I don't think you can. I encounter that problem occasionally if I have played around with my runtimes (IE: renamed them), and my base figure is from the runtime under a different name. I haven't figured out how to get poser to comply when I cancel looking. It stops looking for that file, but keeps on looking for others...and eventually my computer just seizes up.

are, especially the evil side of us.
This we can do only if we are not
angry with our critics but will take in good
heart whatever they might have to
say." - Ghandi
Yes, I had that problem all the time with Poser 5. Another thing I love about Poser 6... it stops searching when I tell it to stop! ;o) France

I have exactly same problem it alway drive me nuts!
As Fazzel said, you have to fix all the references in the Poser files. Using Correct Reference will save you lots of time and hard work. You could correct the references manually but you would have to open ALL Poser files (cr2, pz2, pp2 and maybe a few other formats) in WordPad and change the location of the referenced file (object, texture). Can you imagine the time it would take to do that?

Did you, by any chance, had this problem more often when applying morphs to V3, M3, etc.? If you did, make sure the !DAZ folders are in the main libraries folder and not into POSE or other folder. I had moved these files once and ... well you can imagine how often Poser 5 crashed! ;o)

Does Correct Reference find the fact that some files are missing? If not, I suggest ObjectOrganizer by John Hoagland (in the MP here). It will tell you if some files are missing BUT you have to check all files one by one. ;o(
