I would really see how you would run a business like that. With all the different law and tax situations, with changing exchange rates between currencies etc etc. Most software i know has a different price in Europe. And even in Europe there are different prices. The voucher at 3DWorld. Has anybody said that it will be usable for the update? No. Become realistic. A project like this is probably paid by the magazine, not by e-on. They sell a hell of a lot more copies of the magazine right now. Because of this voucher and because of the exclusively of the Infinite demo right now.

I thought the voucher was for buying future products from e-onsoftware at a future online store?

Different vouchers i think we are talking about here. One is a price reduction of Infinite for buyers of the 3DWorld magazine, the other is from e-on for buyers of their packages and meant for Cornucopia, the online store that will come (hopefully).

Can't you just upgrade from Vue 5 Esprit to Vue 5 Infinite? Or is that insane to try using Eurocash?

Yes, you can upgrade, or "sidegrade" as E-on calls it, from Vue 5 Esprit to Vue 5 Infinite. Details of prices are towards the bottom of the page at the link.Glad to hear they've lost another customer. I'm still really hoping they will loose lots of EU customers, so that they will do something about the pricing mess.
Artwork and 3DToons items, create the perfect place for you toon and other figures!

Due to the childish TOS changes, I'm not allowed to link to my other products outside of Rendo anymore :(
Food for thought.....

That's not a really fair comparison. Those are price differences after taxation. Plus, I can shop around for cheaper petrol/hotels/bread. However, annoying as those price differences may be - especially since Vue is shipped from/manufactured in France - just imagine how much fun you'll have with Infinite. If you can afford it, get it.
Ok, how is that? We can buy German cars that are exported to Italy for example and re-imported by other companies for 20% less than the regular German price (and that includes all ex-/import taxes). That is more than normal in Europe. You see it every day. Not nice but that's how it is. When i read software reviews in German magazines they normally have three prices there. For Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Totally normal. Even for Bryce i think - or any other software package i know.

No offense wabe, but it's a simple calculation for me. I bought Vue 5 Esprit: 249 Euro Upgrade to Vue 5 Infinite: 399 Euro ----------------------------------- = 648 Euro Vue 5 Infinite: 599 Euro 3D Art Voucher: -100 Euro ------------------------- = 499 Euro So early adopters pay the price. I think that's not fair, and that has nothing to do with different prices in Dollars or Euro. Normally people that upgrade are not punished. They could simply give the voucher also to the sidegraders and I would be their customer. Well I think I ask them... ...and I don't have to accept everything I don't like. I'm allowed to complain. Sometimes this changes things...
Special priced software for magazines happen all the time, and I'm glad it does, because otherwise I would never have bought Xfrog 3.5 for 100 euros. Regular price is about 300 euros. Sometimes you're lucky, sometimes you're not. About Vue Infinite, there is another less painfull way to get it: If you have 5 esprit, why don't oyu buy the 4 extra modules one by one, at your own pace, when you can afford it, and then sidegrade from Pro Studio ( what you get when you have Esprit + the 4 modules) for 199 euros? It will cost a bit more in the end, but you don't have to spend too much once. This is how I did anyway.
See? !!! Upgrading from Esprit to Pro Studio can be done by buying 4 extra modules separately or altogether, and THEN you can sidegrade from Pro Studio to Infinite for 199 euros ( plus tax!!!) It's not cheaper, it's even a bit more expensive this way, but you don't have to spend too much money at once.
Got a response from e-on. Said that this is a special 3D World bonus and that they are sorry they cannot extend it to Sidegrades/Upgrades. Seems quite reasonable what they wrote and I'm not so much disappointed any longer. Said they try also to get a better price for me. We'll see. At least the communicate nicely with their costumers. That's much more than others do.

I did see the voucher for Vue 5 Infinite in 3D World. I always didn't like the high European price for Vue, but I bought Vue 5 Esprit anyway. Now I found out, you cannot use the voucher for the Upgrade. Wish I hadn't bought Vue 5 Esprit. I really don't understand e-on's politics anymore. Seems they lost a customer again...
