Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 21 6:06 am)
Alternative method - Compose and render the scene first without the figure. Apply the render to a one-sided square primitive and position to fill the screen in exactly the same aspect as the original. Set the square to partial transparency in whatever percentage suits your purpose - try 50% and adjust as needed. Place the figure where you want it, and re-render with the semi-tran parent scene superimposed over the figure. Might produce the effects you want, with a bit of trial and error. Good luck with your image. . .
Yup, Poser does really strange things when you make a figure semi-transparent. Worst of all is that parts like ears and noses can show up at weird angles, because they're seen "from inside" which throws Poser into a confused tizzy. The only decent solution, as the other answers said, is to render the object by itself, opaque as usual, then use 2D layers to put it back into the scene with transparency. You might want to mix a white mask onto it as well.

You could also try Davey Jones Ghost at DAZ which has a ghostly transparent figure http://www.daz3d.com/shop.php?op=itemdetails&item=1697Attached Link: http://www.weirdass.net

I am trying to make one of the figure transparent. Everything is fine, until I try to do this to the head. When I go to make head transparent, You can see all things inside the head. Gum, teeth, etc. It looks awful. So I go and make all the rest of the stuff even more transparent, but doesn't really help much. Is there a way to make these parts invisible? I don't see anywhere to do so like you can with all the rest of the props. I am using P6 if that makes any difference. Please help if you can! Thanks!
