Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 23 7:38 pm)
I bought Apollo and would love to use him if I could get good-looking shoulders and upper arms when not "bulked."
In other words, a regular person!
Would the "cole" body do that? Could you post an image of a good-looking AM body shot, not bulked up?

Well, the Cole character has tons of great morphs on his body. He's great for the head morphs too, but I particularly like his body morphs. There's more than Muscle, Weight, and Definition. I tend toward more muscular need anyway. But, as far as the top of the arm, shoulder muscularity, I've yet to find a way to successfully get rid of it. I'm working on finding a mix of morph settings that'll do it though.
Where can you get morph manager? I didn't see it in the free stuff here.

I forgot It's a PC executable. That explains why I haven't messed with it before. Oh well...

I'll just chime in as the tenth person who purchased AM... ;)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

thanks. I actually have him. I was wondering if there was an extra thing I hadn't tried but I have done this type of thing with him before. Yeah I agree too much more muscle on him would be icky. Love esther

Thanks Methman. It's just a mix of the character heads that comes with him actually,

And a bit of a smile. I split the MouthGrin1 into a left and right so I could give him this slightly crooked grin. It's actually my only gripe with Apollo. I REALLY don't like his soft-chubby default face. But it's easy to change :o)

Great to see people loving ApolloMax. Yes you can mix morph packages. You do have to be careful because some morphs when mixed from different packages overlap or do some strange things. Cole is an excellent morph package for ApolloMax and really ads a lot of new different styles to the existing morphs. to get differnt packages of morphs to work together as stated use morph manager. Create a backup of your cr2 files before mixing and playing. I have a ApolloMax retail cr2, the Cole cr2 (which is ApolloMax morphs with Cole morphs), and a ApolloMax play cr2 where I throw everything into the cr2 and play with settings. It is simple to move the morphs but there are a lot of names and no pictures when moving morphs. It can be a bit of work, I usually get a pad of paper and write down a morph name, transfer morphs, play with it in poser and see if I want it in my new cr2 and repeat. It's not hard at all, it's just bookkeeping and testing. The Apollomax forum at runtimedna.com has a lot of threads on the topic. there are also a bunch of freebie pose files at runtimedna.com for different character settings. Play, ask questions, and have fun.

carodan, In your first image above, that character has good shape to the shoulders and upper arm. Somehow you've gotten around the Poser problems in that area. Was your custom morph a part of that, or is it actually possible to get Apollo to look like a normal human man? Would you be willing to post a render of the inner elbow of that character in bent position? Have you overcome the bent drinking-straw issue, as well? ::::: Opera :::::
I think, if I remember right, that it was just the base (maybe with some Cole) ... The way Apollo has the arms modelled helps with the problems, but it creates problems for Wardrobe Wizard or general clothing modelling sometimes. But it is definately better. Been trying to advocate somethign liek that for years, since I saw it in the ZBrush forums.

The Cole morphs deal with the shoulder pads, and I think the arms bowing inwards might just be a problem with understanding the best ways to pose his arms (they do get a bit of getting used to).

ok. this is interesting. Those are near-normal arms and shoulders, something you do NOT see in Poser. I use James and EJ-male-morphed because they are the least of all evils. Michael, Davide, etc., are useless to me. I won't be able to get to it for a while, but I'm going to wake him up and get the cole morphs. It's worth a shot. ::::: Opera :::::
Well, kind of female. Crane (in RDNA Apollo Max Forum) was working on something a while back - don't know if he ever finished it. I don't think it was a complete female conversion of AM though. There arn't any commercial products to do this that I know of. There have been 'rumours' of a 'Venus' for some time in various forums, but I don't think Anton is planning on releasing her too soon.

A note on the subject of this thread - I know it's just a tongue-in-cheek sort of title, but it does re-iterate the sentiment that Apollo is a bit of a Poser outcast. I was of the understanding that Apollo had actually done quite well, regardless of the poor support of developers, which IMHO is sadly part of what is holding him back. Apollo can do so much, but could be so much more still.

Hopefully with e-Frontier at the helm AM will get some more exposure... and I think with the figure choices opening up things will be looking better and better for Apollo. When the world was pretty much "all Daz, all the time" then an alternative character was forver a problem. However as Miki has shown there really is room for a non-daz figure to really make an impact now that the Daz store isn't the gatekeeper to the Poser community. Personally I love AM, and I woudl >LOVE< a matching Venus figure. Maybe the rumored new figure from e-frontier will give us some help there. Miki is great - but just not really "cute" enough for my uses.
Well, I know this is all rumor and speculation, however... There were hints that CP was coming out with a new female figure but then they released Miki Collector's edition and people thought :Oh that was it....okay..." Anton had mentioned he had "finished up" on the Venus figure but would not, at that time speculate on how or when it was being released. Anton lets us know he's moving to CP.... Hmmmm....am I the only one who watches too many detective dramas on tv? smile

I love AM, He kills all Michaels and David (morphically speaking). I have the Cole setup and the Morpheus Maximus as well, and I find myself using Morpheus more because of his great dial up face morphs. What I was wondering is if it is possible to use the great body of Cole with the head of Morpheus? My poser knowledge is all experiecial, and I've never delved into that. Any help would be great.
