No, the program won't choose Poser content over DAZ. You just tell it where the Poser content is, and DAZ creates a directory in the content folder for you to be able to look in to find your Poser stuff.
The Poser stuff works in DAZ more or less the way it should.
I don't know if the wolf model is free in Poser 5, I know I got it free from somewhere, but I can't remember where. Judging from where it is in my downloads, I think it came free with DAZ Studio.
Could be worse, could be raining.
I think the only poser content you can't get at from inside daz is the items that come as part of Poser, other poser stuff that you install seperately IS useable by Daz Studio directly.

Tension level of my existance just became lower to find out I'm not on Bryster list for excommunication.
Yes I prefer DS over learning Poser because I know its controls and it has direct linking to Bryce that exports mats along with obj well. Judging fm prevous post here I believe that can be an issue with Poser. And at some point wolf was included with some other animals in Poser. There are references to it on web. And because it was free with the program there apparently hasn't been much incentative to build others. I did find another priced at $75. Too rich for me.

Note reference to wolf model in poser at this link. I guess I'll install free poser and see.Attached Link: http://www.daz3d.com/shop.php?op=itemdetails&item=342&spmeta=ab
I found one at Daz, was obscure in search. I looks cheezy judging from the images provided. Still hoping for a better one.I didn't pay extra for a cd, I had to download and I'm on dialup so it was hell. But it was one of the freebies in my downloads from them. But like I said, I haven't been able to figure out how to open it. Doesn't help that I've had a horrible cold and decided tonight to use up the last of my margaretta stuff. My brain just isn't figuring out how to get this into DAz, maybe I need to open poser. But those were the letters on the download item. Sorry I'm not much help.
The wolf, the lion and the frog are installed with Poser (v4, v5 and v6). (Check the ZygoteAnimals directory in the directory Runtime in the Poser5 directory) If you do a seach, you will find some other mats for these animals.
You can have also some very nice wolfs and coyotes at Lynn's Creation site.

Never fear, I figured it out, was very simple, which is why I had trouble with it, if that makes any sense. And I gotta admit, I love the daz button in the Bryce interface. That made it so so simple. Went into bryce, clicked the daz button, imported the wolf, posed him and (somehow) went back to bryce and there he was just like I posed him. with his mat and all.
Ang, I 'm about where u were the other day. I can pose it, render it, export it fm Poser. When I import to Bryce the mats are missing. I'm stumped so far, but I must admit I'm learning pretty much by trial and error instead of reading manual.
The posing interface in Poser is slick.
Did you load the wolf in poser and export:; or, did you somehow load the poser file into DS straight from Poser file? If you exported, what file type...obj? If you did other file type ... then what?
I think the simple explaination is.....
Install a character in Poser and leave it here.
Open Bryce
Click on the DAZ/Studio icon
Wait for DAZ/Studio to load up
Your Poser character will be in the D/S catalogue.
Pose character in D/S
Click on BRYCE icon to return to Bryce.
In other words 'you don't need to use poser.
One word of warning though.......
If you have more than one character in your Bryce scene, you need to delete the link between Bryce and D/S for that character before going to work importing another character from D/s

I hope Bryster isn't viewing because this is heresy.
I've always used DS for what little model manipulation I've done in the past. Now its latest version is included with the B6. About the same time B6 came out Poser 5 was offered free. I couldn't pass up free.
I haven't installed P5 yet so I'm not sure how much is included with the free pkg.
Two questions:
1) When installing some models, the installer looks for poser content to upload to. If I install a model or morph pkg designed for Poser, will it seek Poser over DS? How should I file contents to be useable in both programs if I desire?
2) Is the wolf model in the free Poser5 content? I need a wolf model, so can I retrieve it fm the files of the uninstalled Poser5 and use it in DS? I can't find any other wolf on google outside of this one mentioned and some wolf maps for the Poser model.
Does this make sense what I'm asking? I'm happy with DS but am I missing out by not using Poser5? I've got tons of stuff from Daz and I want to start using it without much hassle.
Tks for the advice in advance.
