Subject: tail trauma - advice please

No response yesterday so I thought I would try again.

I figured out how to make a tail, import it into  Poser (5) and successfully set it up so it bends. It is a figure. Now I want to attach it  to and use  it with a  biped character but I can't figure out how to do it!

Essentially what I am asking is how to join what should be a conforming figure (ie a tail) which has no direct overlap with the existing figures setup. If it was a pair of pants which actually shared parts of the same bone stucture it wouldn't be a problem.

I'm fairly certain there must be a tute out there somewhere on how to do this (as I'm sure I'm not the only person who ever wanted to). I've searched but I can't find one - is anyone able to direct me to such a tute?

Simply parent the tail figure to the character's hip.

Thanks for the response Little_Dragon.  Sorry if this sounds stupid but is this done via conform to figure or treating it like a prop? When I tried treating it like a prop I didn't seem to have the option of creating a parent - that button was greyed out.  Limitation of  Poser5 maybe? Something wrong with my tail setup?

Since your tail is now set up as a figure, you will need to go under the Figure menu --> Set Figure parent.

Same deal as when you parent a prop....Poser just puts it in a different category for itself to keep track of.

Crazy alien chick FTW! (yeah....right....)

Realm of Savage - Poser goodies and so much more!

Cool! Thanks for the help  - I got it now. Connected and working fine but just noticed some dodgy geometry! - oh well back to the drawing board!
