Way cool! Personally, I'd prefer either PCF or RTE.
Fugazi- these are both encoded file types which require this free software to decode:
RTE- RTEncoder

PCF-Objaction Mover

UV I think is the best, that way we definitely have a choice as to whether we want this new Jesse to replace the old, or to compliment her.

I remember when Eszter was released for V3. There was a drop down menu to use Eszter's UV's or V3's UV's and that worked out pretty well. Didn't auto load on the Eszter face but it looked right when it was all hand loaded. So UV is my vote and if you can work out an option like that I think it would be even better for alot of folks!
Sounds cool in any case

UV is nice because it uses less bandwidth and with encoding I have had trouble many times with the seed not working because my .obj was an earlier release than that of the person who did the encoding. I would love to test so I will IM you :)
P.S. anyone have advice on the best body morphs for Jessi realism? I have Glamourous Jessie and oscillator's generous softjessi. I am wanting a smoother abdo/chest and "more realistic" collars. Right now I have in my RMP cart a character named Michelle... it seems to have the best body I could find. The nicest head is Lolly Dolly but I can't aford the price just for a head .
patorak, ever think of trying Miki remapped to V3 UVs? I have not done any remapping since P2 Nude and P4 Nude Lo to Posette :)
Hi momodot!
Long time no see! Thank you for volunteering.
When i comes to Jessi morphs, I would like the same plus a belly out morph and something done with the feet.
As for Miki, I'm afraid that I don't have her, but by beta- testing you will be able to see the steps I'm going through with Jessi.
Cheers!

Since we seem to be divided on this issue, would it be possible to compromise and have two methods available: a UV and an RTE encoded file? That would seem to cover all bases, and make everybody happy. While I know how to do it, I personally do not like the hassle that RTE involves, and find using UV Mapper a much easier app.; but I, and those like me, seem to be in a minority here. However, if both methods were made available, then none of us need feel put upon by the others. Many freebies come with multiple decoding options, for example Floydd's Posette324 is offered as both a PCF and a UV file.

Terxture mapping had nothing to do with morphs. Mapping is simply the way that the obj. finds its textures, and then applies them to the right body part. It has nothing to do with the object's mesh. Therefore, whether it's remappe dto accept V2's or V3's, or even Posette's textures will in no way affect the morphs.

Hi Everyone!
First, I want to thank all of you for your input and taking the time to vote. As the vote stands now, we have 6 for RTE, PCF 4 votes, and UVs 4 votes.
Now, since I'm from Chicago, I guess I'll have to find a way to rig this vote. I knew I should've voted early... ...and often too!
Seriously though folks, I hate to say this, but It's going to take a month, and that's for sure. There are three issues. The first, Jessi needs to be regrouped. The second is, Jessi has 1881 vertices that are unwelded. The third, Jessi has 4 polys floating in her head and those wreak havoc on pelting programs. If I weld the vertices, and delete the 4 polys then it creates a new mesh. I don't think I want that and the work it would entail. So, please be patient.
If anyone is interested I have a previous version of Jessi that I remapped for a friend ( this one is finished), kind of in the style of V2 or Posette. Make no mistake it is not compatible, just the same style i.e. separate front and back instead of a pelt like V3. So, if you are a texture artist and would like to test it contact me at chieftanoclan7@sbcglobal.net The copy is yours consider it a freebie.
Also, the tools I'll be using are Lightwave, PLG's uvplugins for Lightwave, And UVMapper Pro.
The technique will be Endomorph UVmapping.
The call is still open for Beta-Testers, hopefully some more Mac users will step forward.

Thanks again everyone!

i very much vote uv. that way, if the g2 jessi isn't a new mesh, we could still use the v3 remapping on her. also, i've had most instances of encoding fail because i didn't have the precise version of the file the decoder wanted.
edited to add- this would be great! i rarely use glamorous jessi because i don't have any skins to put on her.
Hi Mizrael!
No, your question about the morphs was not a dumb one. Matter of fact that was our first and most important beta test. So far no one has had trouble with the morphs. I am still waiting for a few more results though before I move on to beta2. Beta2 will be the mapping of the Eyes, Lacrimals, Innermouth, Tongue, Fingernails, and Toenails. Beta2 test will be Saturday evening.
Cheers!

Yea, not even a peep about the G2 females. You would think by now but nope!

The people from CP are definitely trying, but sometimes their decisions seem not too smart.
In P5 hirez and lorez refererred to the textures on the P5 models (is that right?)
In P6 we have a highrez and lowrez mesh on Jessie.
Unfortunately the model had shortcomings that Jim Burton addressed in his Glam Jessie, also in high and low rez versions.
Now we have:
head morph targets are compatible between 1,3 and 2,4
Clothes are compatible between 1,2 and 3,4
body morph targets are not compatible between any of them.
textures are compatible across 1,2,3,4 but 3 and 4 have extra material zones
Did I get this right?
Let's pick a model to remap carefully.
Hi Everyone!
Beta 1 was a success. After welding, healing, then remapping in Planar on the Z axis, the morphs work just fine. The Beta1 test was to make sure that the integrity of the original geometry was still in tact, before moving on to the actual "pelting". See, the technique I'm using is endomorph UV mapping, with that there are times one is actually adjusting the mesh itself. And, I do not plan on going through all of this work and then find out it is incompatible with the original geometry.
Anyhow, Beta2 has been sent to the people that have tested beta 1. In Beta2, I've regrouped and remapped the eyes ( eyewhite, iris, pupil, cornea ), lacrimals, innermouth, tongue, fingernails, and toenails. Although, they may need some tweaking, right now I just want to get the maps in the ballpark.
As for Glamorous Jessi and Glamorous Glennis, I'm still waiting on my Beta tester to send me the results of their beta1 test, before I move on to their beta2.
What is the vote count so far?
Cheers!

You're quite welcome. Well, here is where we stand so far, beta1 and beta2 were a success. Right now, I'm selecting benchmarks around the head from which I will declinate the map to. Here is the progress so far. The texture that I'm using is Nathalie for V3 by pidgifr. Beta 3 will be tested later this week. Please be patient and thank you all for your support.
Cheers!

Hello jecnodde,
Absolutely! The only thing is, I ran into the worst case scenario. Jessi is not symmetrical about the Y axis. Because of this my UVmapping functon skews the map. Therefore I've been moving 34461 vertices by hand, which really tends to bog down, considering I can't work in symmetrical mode either because of this. I got to tell you though that I've been seriously thinking about rebuilding her mesh, release the RTE in the freebies, and let everyone transfer the morphs using Ocham and cages python scripts. If I do, is there anything you'd like to see changed on her?
Cheers,
Patorak
hmmm. but would the new figure have face room support? one of the reasons i like eF figures is that i find the face room rather useful for just creating head morphs.
if you're basically just going to make a new figure out of her.... i'd say just run with it. i mean, i have no preference about the direction to take her face or body. i'd rather have a rounder figure based on jessi than a thin one (i have glamorous jessi), but really i'd say just go with your inspiration. i will say this: i don't think i have that many clothes for jessi. if you wanted to redo her grouping and joints along with changing her mesh, i don't think it would be a big difference.
that said, i'd be a lot more interested in a remapped jessi than a new figure with v3 mapping that at best can wear jessi's clothes. but it sounds like that's too difficult. ah well.
oh, now i feel bad. seriously, if you want to make a new figure that takes unimesh mapping out of jessi, that would still be very cool. i was looking at your new figure in progress the other day, and i think she looks great. her butt looked a bit odd at the join with the back last i looked (too pronounced), but her shape was great in general. my only vote with her is that she a) take unimesh mapping and b) be nude shaped in default, not bra bound. if your figure got twice as much support as jessi, she'd still be much more useful and versatile as a nude and unimesh mapped figure than a new figure who looks more accurate clothed than naked.
Ah don't feel bad that's just life in the Poserverse. BTW thanks for your sugestions on the Jane figure. The main thing we're trying for is a natural woman. Since you've mentoned UV mapping, one of the ideas that has been brought up is multiple uv maps for specific needs, instead of just one default map.
Anyway, thanks again, and please keep in touch.
Cheers,
Patorak
Yeah, I couldn't believe it. The only thing I can think of is that something got corrupted. I just don't know if it's in the OBJ or the CR2.
When I brought her into lightwave, she had 1881 unwelded vertices, maybe when I welded the UVmap, it welded those vertices.
When I changed the call, all I did was replace Jessi.obj with the new Jessi_V3.obj and saved as a new CR2. Then, BAM, no face room, no full body morphs. If you would like to check it out just e-mail me and I'll send you the RTE.
Cheers,
Patorak

Hi Everyone!
I just got off the phone with Daz and E-Frontier. Both companies have given me their permission to release a remapped version of Jessi that would be compatible with Victoria 3's textures.
Now for the big question, what format would everyone like. The choices are PCF, RTE, or UVs.
Cheers!
