Subject: Rules unclear and unfair

Queen Jumps is a goddess amongst men, who dares too question her opinion!

Bow and grovel before her like the dogs you are!

Takes out his lightsaber and promptly cleaves the kitty in half.

There now this thread can die, as it should have long ago.

I reckon it'll never get that long. has anybody used the term "nazi" yet in this thread? as I understand it, the laws of probability dictate that somebody hasta make some analogy to the nazis in any long internet forum thread.

Attached Link: Link to Perfectly Innocent Cupid Babies

After reading this incredibly long thread as carefully as possible, I still just want to know one thing:  should I bother to submit my extremely innocent and utterly luscious cupids and putti based very loosely on the DAZ Mil Baby but lovingly painted by me with their little butts and nether regions covered up with swags of cloth and whisps of cloud and flowers?  Or will the most unutterably stupid rule in the world prevent me from marketing this great product here as well as in my own store?

I'm sorry, even after reading all this sheer  nonsense, I just can't believe there is anything remotely wrong with naked babies and I would find it a mark of true moral cowardice and the lowest form of (real) pandering to view imagery like this in any but the most innocent light.

What is, after all, considered NUDITY AMONG BABIES/PUTTI/CUPIDS/CHERUBS?  Is it when their little cherubic butt cheeks show a little bit?  Or is it when their baby chests are not covered?  Or maybe if they have a little bit of a flirty look on their faces?  What if the cracks in their little baby asses are carefully disguised in the promos with clouds?  But then . . .somebody might say that they clouds IMPLY underlying nudity.

Yanno . . . mal y soit qui mal y pense.

And . . . how could someone find out in advance of the interminable testing routine here whether this obvously innocent product would get the heave ho?

I think this just about "covers" it...

  • No Child Nudity: Images of children or characters resembling children (including teens, pre adolescent, child like fairies and other imaginary figures) under 18 years of age, depicting nudity are no longer permitted.
  • No child nudity of any kind which includes exposed chest on females, buttocks or genitals.
  • No images in which characters under the age of 18 give the appearance of having no clothes.
  • No use of: transparent clothes, blurring of nude areas, or the use of 'blots" or 'Censored" wording or props to cover areas that are otherwise not clothed.
  • No depictions of young humanoid characters/children giving the appearance of being under the age of 18 displayed in erotic, seductive, provocative poses or context.
  • Babies in diapers will be allowed. Toddlers fall under the child nudity section.
  • Since age is difficult to identify with 3D images, this will be at the discretion of the Renderosity team.
  • Gender that is questionable on an image with an exposed chest will be removed from the gallery at the discretion of the Renderosity team.

Oh that's clear all right, ROFLMAO.

What is clear is that there is no end to the insanity in this world.

First there is the insanity of people who might get try to have sex with cupids (I guess).

Then there is the insanity of people who want to stop people from cupid pedophilia by banning pictures of dangerously seductive cupid/putti/cherubs.

Then there is the insanity of people who pander to the slim minority of insane people who are trying to stop people from having sex with cupids by banning pictures of dangerously exposed and all-to-pretty little cupids.  Do I have this string of associations correct?

I'm sorry, I'm convulsed with laughter over this mindlessness and can't type straight any more.  Stewart or Colbert could find some great material here.  It's great parody  material.  Maybe Robin Williams could do it justice.

It all started with the decision to cover up the ass of the Coppertone Girl in the mid-90s.  There was the concern, or at least suggested, that pedophiles were encouraged by her beautiful, smooth-but-firm derriere.

Quote - First there is the insanity of people who might get try to have sex with cupids (I guess).

LOL!  For some...any port in a storm, even if a monitor screen isn't very yielding :)

Quote - Then there is the insanity of people who want to stop people from cupid pedophilia by banning pictures of dangerously seductive cupid/putti/cherubs.

These would be the religious fanatics and child protection groups.  And just like Schering-Plough, Renderosity falls victim to them.  I would imagine they're also held hostage to the very people who handle their purchase transactions.  If they don't like the content being purchased, they'll tell Rendo to fuck off, and that would not be a good thing for the coffers...agreed?  This happened recently to Renderotica, if I'm not mistaken.  Not that Renderotica was displaying child porn, it was for a completely different reason, but still based on the site's content.

Yes, you do.  But if you're referring to Renderosity, again, their hands are tied.  They're a business; a very, very large one as far as sites like this go, and revenue is obviously important.  And as I suggested, they're most likely held hostage by the people who handle their transactions as well as the watchdog groups who monitor sites like this.

"But don't blame Rendo, blame the whackjobs who haunt the halls."

Blame has nothing to do with this. Staying conscious enough to mark what is happening in front of your face is more to the point.

I fully understand that this is a socio-economic-political issue in a teapot. I totally "get it" that radical, reactionary, theocratic right wing influences have invaded economic and political institutions, with the full cooperation of the private sector of the economy and the general public - who naturally surrender to the economic bottom line.

But I just call 'em as I see 'em.  No offense intended.  Somebody told me my cupids wouldn't pass testing here at Rendo and I didn't believe it was possible, so I read the entire thread to convince myself that such a thing was really possible.  I'm not a "community member", just a vendor who has other irons in the fire, so I don't follow these Threads of Mindlessness very closely.  In spite of all the other products in my store, something this ridiculous was surprising to me.

There are good reasons why people make seemingly hyperbolic references to Nazi Germany when discussing silly things like this. It only seems like a far out allusion, LOL. The truth is, this is exactly how common sense is gradually eroded and before you know it, credit card companies are dictating a broad range of social influences and are in turn being controlled by a radical right wing agenda. And companies like Renderosity are just trying to survive in the pretense of a freemarket economy, when they are in reality being manipulated in a highly controlled economy and political system. Yes, I get that.

Hide images of rosy, chubby little baby bodies, but send your tax money to build a million cluster bombs to rain on children.  Yep, that sure makes sense, har de har har!  This is what this country has come to. No blame to Renderosity, they are in the Mainstream of Mindlessness in which we are all swimming for our lives.

The attraction of mindlessness is very subtle . . .usually it takes brilliant but bitter comedians to notice when it's happening right in front of an entire nation. Cultivating body shame by labelling nude images of cupids - or children - as somehow dangerous . . .this is all part of the broader culture of fear which justifies a whole lotta mindless crap which we really should be afraid of. And I am. That is to say, I am not afraid of nudity but I'm really afraid of mindlessness like this. And I'm appropriately afraid of businesses and organizations which embrace mindlessness because . . .because . . .well just because they gotta do it to stay alive as an organization. A mindless organization's gotta do what a mindless organization's gotta do.  That's a classic danger sign for everybody.

Oh well, gotta go figure out some stuff to make money.  I hope I haven't said anything offensive . . .but I sure wish I could be John Stewart when I grow up.

jaguarwoman ( ) posted Thu, 28 December 2006 at 5:07 PM

I believe the issue is solved for Renderosity, Miss Nancy.  All this these comments are simply our own rantings and there's nothing for Renderosity to address. Mindlessness, once established, is immovable.

I only wanted to  point my finger and guffaw for the entertainment value (to myself).  Public recognition of mindlessness still has a value to me but that has nothing to do with getting Renderosity to do or say or change anything.

Not quite THAT badly lol. Let's just say there's extreme pain and swelling but hopefully nothing permanent. I have enough frustrations to deal with, with a bad computer, a dead DVD player, poverty, being alone and god knows what else. At least at this point it's just my knee instead of my whole body., which it was the day after. Falls impact people like me badly. On the other hand, I'm damn lucky I didn't break something.

Is this an error with the new site that should be fixed? Or is it something on the user end?

I've noticed that, too; it seems to happen when a thread gets to about five pages or so. My theory is that there's a division or rounding error somewhere in the program that's confused by the total number of posts in the thread (including the original message) and the number of posts reported on the index page (which does not include the original message). The problem seems to get worse as the number of pages increase, which makes me think that it's related to a rounding error on a per page basis.
