There is that funky dent on the eye -

The nose has more of a point, and a tad more flare to the nostril

And that area of the cheek looks like fat is kinda sticking out, the kind old aunts like to pinch- the model is smooth there.

PLEASE point out anything else you see as off - icredibly brutal critizism (sic...) is much appreciated here as I want to get as CLOSE as possible to this.

And any advice on how to change the errors I already mentioned will help greatly - or advice on how I can post in the actual apollo forum.
Thanks much

it's a good replica, but ya gotta use the same pose and camera focal length as in the photo for an exact comparison.

What problems are you experiencing in trying to post to the Apollo Forum?

I really like Apollo and - alot of the things about him - especially like the fact that he's free.  I am beginning to think though, that it would be in my best interest to work with M3 instead.  Seems there is alot more support - community and otherwise with that model.

My initial idea was that was all Apollo needed - a following of sorts.   Ah well - color me frustrated - back to some V4 work lol.

Us Apollo devotees are all hoping support for him increases, and given his installed userbase and incredible flexibilty, I think it's a fair assumption that it will.

Unfortunatley, as of right now there's very little out there, especially when compared to the somewhat long-in-the-tooth M3 for instance.

My suggestion would be to invest in PhilC's Wardrobe Wizard. Then the plethora of free clothing items for practically any figure can be adapted (with some effort) to fit Apollo.

Don't give up on him just yet :).

Nah it's not the clothes or the items, I understand the lack of those.  It's the answers to questions.

For instance - why can't I get his hand to "grasp"?   Why does parenting anything to him turn my entire scene screwy?

But I have a pretty long list of questions now building and so far the answers are far and few between.   I fiddled more and found the solution to this, but then another arises - like the ungodly overbite the character is now sporting.    If I ask a question about V4 or material nodes- 15 people are going to reply.  Basically that is the kind of support Im needing.

That's a fair comment.

As you've discovered, CP is the place to go for Apollo questions. Most importantly you'll find Anton Kisiel there (Apollo's creator). You'll certainly get accurate answers to your questions, they just may not be as prompt or numerous.

When compared to other less flexible figures, Apollo does appear to have a steep learning curve. Once you're over that initial bump (which I've just gotten over myself) it should be smooth sailing.

And don't underestimage the power of R'osity mail :). If you need very specific help, feel free to PM those in the know. I'm a beginner myself but feel free to include me on that list. Most people are more than happy to help.

Why do people look for perfection in 3D models? No model is perfect from head to toe.

huh?
