Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 03 12:46 am)
did you unconform them before you parented then ?
(that's about all I can come up with I'm afraid - I don't really do fairys :) )

Hmmm... I've never parented and conformed the same object. I'd select the wings, conform to your character, then select the root part of your wings and use the X,Y,and Z dials to position it correctly. I've actually been able to get clothes for one figure to work with another figure using that trick.
Hmm, well good news and bad news. Good news is that I indeed was using the wrong part of it to try and adjust after I conformed it (it needed to have 'chest' selected on the wings instead of 'body'). And now when I apply poses, the wings are on the back where they should be.
Unfortunately they turn upside down. Everytime. :/
Whyyyyy? lol
Ok, well I found something interesting. Basically when I 'applied universal pose' it flipped the wings upside down (which is oddly the same thing it did when I conformed the wings to the person and thus had to flip them back around the right way afterwards).
But when I click on 'apply original pose' the wings stay right where I want them. I have no idea why. For that matter, I'm not even sure what the difference between applying universal and original poses are.
Anywho, it works that way, so I'm happy.
Don't conform the wings.
Position them where they are supposed to be on the back.
Select the body of the wings
Go to Object ---> Change Parent and parent the wings to the figure's chest.

Hmmm... well I originally did change the parent to the figures chest, and it moved correctly when I was just manually changing the character's position, but when I applied a pose, it went bonkers on me.
But like I said, I found a conforming technique that worked so there's at least that. Maybe I'll fool around with it some more and see if I can figure it out.

Ok, so I downloaded the tinkerbell free wings but I am having major conforming issues. When I conform them, they suddenly flip upside down and away from where they should be. Furthermore, after I conform them I cannot move them anymore with the dials to reposition them where they should be.
I tried parenting the wings to the character's chest, which work ok until I add a pose, then they're off flying away into the nether again.
Here's the pic of before conforming...
and here's after conforming them...
I followed the tutorials about conforming but didn't see anything about this. :(
