Subject: Beautiful Render, was this done in poser?

This is a really great render, but is this possible in Poser? maybe im just new, but I haven't seen it look like this yet. Is it due to texture or lighting?

Inputs, thoughts?

Yes, looks that way to me.  A background with a figure and suitcase.  The figure looks "softened" and could have been done using gausian blur during the render, or a soften or slight blur in post work using a plugin.

IMHO the background is too blury for the image though, especially the upper portion of it.  I would love to know the outfit used as I love shear, wispy things like that.

The lighting is nice.  Lights will either make or break your image. I put together a list of links to lighting tutorials.  See this thread.  I strongly suggest Olivier's poser 6 lighting tutorials over at RDNA.

The background is a bitmap, the shadows cast by the character and suitcase don't match the background pic at all. The only parts that were actually rendered by Poser were the suitcase and the character/clothing/umbrella.

For the outfit it seems to be the dress of Aery Soul's Charmed Myst and the Kikas Angel bra.

i figured the background was not rendered, Thanks for the link, It's driving me nuts, that is the type of look i want for all my characters, buts its hard to find.

What would you call that significant look? I would say soft clay, but thats just my opinion, I've seen a few other pictures on the web that is like that too

Like this site for example they all have it, that "look" Im looking for

Are you wanting to know how to make the background blurry while keeping the figure "crisp"? If so that is done using filters in post work.  Gausian or zoom blurs, softening etc.

Thanks! Charmed Myst is now in my wishlist.  I just shopped a bit last night so now I have to wait until the end of the month. Maybe it will be on sale  by then crosses fingers  hehe

Oh no the background isn't important.

I want to get that certain lighting effect on the character, I am just wondering if its textures as well or just lighting to get that certain effect on their skin. and clothes

To my knowledge AS doesn't put their products on sale. But they have raise down the prices of the "oldest" products.

Lighting would be my bet.

The lighting looks like a very nice Image Based Lighting setup.  You might just PM RGUS and ask, he's pretty friendly :)

I don't think it's the lighting giving her that soft glow. Take the render into a 2D paint program. Pant white in certain areas, blur it, and then use layer properites such as as "soft light" and you can get that glow. Definately done in postwork.

Try 4blueeyes lightset at DAZ, for similar results.

Someone mentioned the shadows.  The shadow on the girl is behind her, while the shadows on the trees are in front of them, the opposite direction.

A little care with lights and shadow would make the pic a lot better.

I still think it looks terrific and hope I can do as well some day.

enigmafox - I've noticed you've been in the Vue forum. Getting this effect is probably best done in Vue, superb Global Illumination & Global Radiosity gives you much better realistic light & shadows to work with. Also, postwork in Photoshop can give you an added soft, glow effect.

Oh yes, that too, If anything i can just import everything to vue, I might have to do that anyways since I usually like vue for its landscapes and such..

Thanks

Another way to do the same thing is blur the background pic before the rendering, no monkeying with masks and such then.
