Subject: CS will not open...info missing. Any idea what to do?

I use CS2 mainly but have CS on the pc.  I tried to open it and this window came up.

I suppose this refers to the "activation" info or something similar.   Does anyone know what to do to get the program functioning again?  Any advice is appreciated greatly.     TomDart.

Is your CS2 an upgrade?  If so, you can't run both CS and CS2 on the same computer because of activation issues.

I have stand-alones for CS, CS2 and CS3 but I can still only have one activated at a time because of the shared program files.

You might want to go over to the Adobe forums and see if they have a fix for this.

Victoria_Lee,  I don't recall if this is an upgrade or not. I have run the CS previously while CS2 was also working which means at one time both worked on the same pc..    I will check Adobe and see what they say.
thanks.       Tom.

as a side note, when ever PS starts to act a bit wonkey, toss out your PS Pref file (preference file) and let PS rebuild a fresh one.

do one of the following:

  • Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS) as you start Photoshop. You are prompted to delete the current settings.
  • (Mac OS only) Open the Preferences folder in the Library folder, and drag the Adobe Photoshop CS Settings folder to the Trash.

New Preferences files are created the next time you start Photoshop.

this usually clears up any odd and unexplained problems that arise.

I will give that a try. Sounds simple enough. Thanks.   Tom.
