I like the body but his head seems a bit small on the size of the body.

First priority is for a demo reel anyways.  The Hulk vs The Thing.

I won't make any further adjustments until I see how the displacement map works out.

I did make the Thing's head larger.  Have to texture him.  Hey...Does P7 support normal maps?

Poserpro does, but from what I heard you can also use normal maps in the gradient bump node.

I need a educational conference on modeling women.

Is she pretty, does she even look female, does she look to young or to old,is her ratios even close.

Woman are 100 *'s more imposable to model then any thing else in the known universe.

Another 40 hours and I'll have something modeled that hopefully resembles a female now if she's human or troll you all well half to decide.

Jane's skin is coming together better. Still needing to play around with the collar/neck area and get that to match better. I'd show you guys her teeth and gums, but I can't get her to open her mouth. Imagine that...a woman who doesn't open her mouth. grin

I don’t know. My figure is almost ready for his intended purpose, which is to help spawn the various costumed inhabitants of a Vue cityscape I’ve planned. He’s not ready for prime time by any stretch--no pun intended. (Not that I have any illusions about the Poser marketplace.)

I haven’t established the joint limits or successfully set up IK as of yet, and that’s the least of it. I keep finding unacceptable issues in some of the bends and twists that need to be resolved, and some of them will require another trip to the modeler. I’ve made some facial expression morphs, which is always fun and plan to make some speech phonemes. (Not that I have an animation project in mind. It’s just something I feel the need to learn.)

Possetta would be laughing at Diamonds real low polycount.Move a few vertices you got a morph, ant nothing to make morphs for her.

All I'm doing is having fun making game meshes that's Poser compatible in my spare time.

Just out of curiosity, how do these rate on the killer-meter?  They're a bit too full for the purpose of the model I'm working on but I thought I'd run this up the flag pole just the same and see if anybody salutes.

This is modeled very closely after a specific real person, a very fit woman, and the broadness of the chest and narrow hips are very intentional.  The neck is just kind of "there" right now until I start on the head, I'll keep that in mind though.  Check your PMs ;)

I learned the basics of rigging from the Poser 5 manual but there were huge pieces missing from my knowledge base until very recently. PhilC and Dr. Geep have rigging tutorials at their sites, but I don’t have their urls handy. You can find their names in the forum and check their user profiles for a link.

Rigging in Poser makes a man better appreciate his other options. The glitches: the crashes: the insane instability of Poser at times tests one’s patience. If it wasn't for sheer stubbornness I would have thrown Poser into the garbage by now to focus exclusively on mastering Lightwave. But wouldn’t that be a waste? I have this fabulous skill set. I can rig in Poser! I can earn pennies on the hour!

Good thing I’m not doing this for money. I believe in finishing what I’ve started, but I’m about done with this, and perhaps with Poser as well.

Any chance Poser 7 rigs are any better then Poser 5 ?

Who has the best rigs D/S or Poser ?

Can you use D/S rigs in Poser ?

What's the trick with spheres at  the hips for rigs ?

Phantom 3D your one of the very very few that can rig hips.

How did you get the hips to bend correctly ?

At this point I'm fixen to throw the rigs out the door and morph Diamond head to toe.

Paloth ( ) posted Fri, 05 September 2008 at 4:18 AM

Poser 7 rigging has a few differences, but I wouldn't call most of these improvements. The Poser 5 Setup Room allows you to select a bone and then target its joint for sizing or moving it. While you can select your bone and see your cursor turn into a target when placed over the  joint in Poser 7, often the bone that actually moves will be some distance away. Other times, the entire object will move, leaving the skeleton behind. (I've often wondered what the point was of allowing you to move the actual object in the Setup Room) You need to rotate your view just right, or hide nearby bones to get at what you want sometimes.

Another change in Poser 7 is that the inner and outer Falloff Spheres wire frame view has dropped the green and red colors, making both spheres a uniform white. I preferred Poser 5's display as it made things less visually confusing when placing falloff zones.

One noticable improvement in Poser 7 is that you can name the bones without the Poser 5 glitch that sometimes makes this task next to impossible, but I strongly recommend that you download the phi builder and use it for establishing your figure's skeleton. Both Poser 5 and Poser 7 will crash and crash again if you attempt to draw your bones in the Setup Room.

Daz Studio currently uses the Poser rigging and there is no way to rig in Daz Studio. Its interpretation of the Poser rigs is sometimes flawed, but not nearly as botched as the Carrara implementation.

I don't use spheres at the hips since the hip doesn't actually bend. (The hip is deformed by the neighboring parts.) By the way, you don't have to use the spheres in every case. Tweak the red and green extension lines that you'll see when the joint editor is selected for the movement type. By pulling the ends of these lines into the right locations, you can make a limb bend just right and improve the affect the movement has on its parent. These lines can be adjusted when you use the spheres as well, but there are some instances when it's better not to use the spheres.

I've never seen a morphs-only approach to rigging in Poser. You wouldn't be able to use Poser's manipulation tools for rotating and bending the parts interactively for such a figure and you can forget about Inverse Kinematics. There might be other problems as well. I'd suggest you learn Poser rigging if you want to create Poser figures.

" download the phi builder " top of my to get list.

I thought there was some kind of a trick where you get a polygon sphere place it at the hip to make the hip bend correctly.

Before Weights, MOCCA

There where the rigs that used limits like in Poser.

You can find them in TrueSpace,C4D all the apps I would guess.

In the existent file.

I remember trying to rig characters with rigs like Posers years and years ago.

The only way we could get characters to look right was buy making multiple charters one standing, one setting ect ect and we didn't have morphs back then so we tweaked the mesh one vertices at a time.

Diamond said she has to look killer in any pose even if we half to break the rules.

There is, but I wonder if anyone has discovered how to make this useful when a figure is wearing clothing? I found that this method removes the ability of the thighs to affect the ‘skirt’ part. Unless someone has some answers, I'd suggest sticking to mudane rigging (which is hard enough.)

I’ve heard that the pros still use the multiple-model approach for posing characters in major motion pictures, despite the superior rigging of top-end software.

I am confused about some stuff.

So we have a few questions.

I did RTFM, but the manual said see forms.

The Vicky body's INJ's sold at the market place. They seem to be pretty much the same height.

Can you make saleable INJ's for Vicky's skeleton ?

All the cloths I seen for Vicky had a lot of Vicky full body morphs in them.

The topology and the vertices numbering of the cloths would be deferent.

So there is no way there using DAZ morphs.

There making the morphs to match ,man it would take a long long time to make all those morphs.
Why would they make all those morphs ?

If the buyer uses Vicky's full body body builder morphs then has to fix the cloths morphs one buy one.

That seems aggravating.

On the advertising web pages.

Some cloths read the cloths will morph automatically when ya morph Vicky.

How are they fixing there cloths to morph automatically ?

I used Vicky full body body building morph then I used a INJ.

The INJ erased the full body body builder morph.

In the Poser gallery seems like INJ are used a lot full body morphs not used much if ever.

So why do they make a lot of full body morphs for cloths ?

A lot of the morphs in the characters just seemed bad.

V4's morphs are better most of them are even usable.

That's kool.

Any way to mix full body morphs and INJ's ?

Any way to morph Vicky and then freeze that look and delete all the morphs ?

Add Vicky Add Hair Add Cloths and you have 300,000 Polycount.

Add 3 characters in a scene your pushing a 1,000,000 Polycount.

Is there a polygon reduction tool that leaves the morphs for Poser ?

Thanks

Sphere in the hip...Phantom3d and me developed this method at the same time but independent of each other.  See your actually creating a root bone and freeing the hip to move.

I'll look into the clothing aspect,  cuz where there are affectors there is a way.  Just have to point them in the right direction.

I'll look into the clothing aspect, cuz where there are affectors there is a way. Just have to point them in the right direction.

At one point, I renamed the skirt part to ‘Hip’ and that allowed the thighs to affect the skirt. Unfortunately, the ‘Hip’ sphere sucked in the skirt creating a constant distortion too odd to be useful. I think the problem is that the hip sphere isn’t shaped like a hip.
