Do you mean the texture template?  If so, you can get that from the Victoria 4 page over at DAZ.

If you're talking about the actual texture, it's located in your texture folder in the Runtime.  Doesn't matter which version of Poser you're using, the textures are the same for all versions because her maps are the same for all versions.

The easiest way is to go to free stuff, search for seam guide,  that will take you to the maps already made. :)

The Victoria 4 seam guides are here

Just click on the link and scroll down to Resources and Information.  Open that box and on the right hand side you'll see the template download link.

I HAVE NOT EXPLAINED MYSELF VERY WELL... WHAT I WANT IS A MAP FROM VICTORIA FACE.. KIND OF TAKE OUT THE SKIN OF HER FACE AND PUT IT LIKE A PAPER...

Victoria_Lee ( ) posted Tue, 14 April 2009 at 12:48 PM

Well, you have a problem there since all of her skin textures, either at DAZ or here, are all copyrighted.

That being said, if you look in the textures folder where you have V4 installed you'll find the DAZ textures and in that folder will be a folder called MilWomen.  Inside that will be one for V4 and all of her texture files are located there.  You'll find her face maps there but you can't use them for anything.

HI AGAIN,

ONE MORE DOUBT... IF I CREATE A FACE IN POSER PRO USING VICTORIA 4 AND OTHER DAZ PRODUCTS (SUCH 3D CELEBRITY BELLE) HOW CAN I DO TO OBTAIN THE OPENED MAP OF THIS SPECIFIC FACE THAT I HAVE CREATED ?

OBS: HERE IS A PICTURE OF A OPENED MAP FROM A FACE... TO MAKE MYSELF MORE CLEAR...

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP

TrekkieGrrrl ( ) posted Tue, 14 April 2009 at 5:29 PM

You didn't attach a picture :( So if you're not looking for a template and you're not looking for the actual texture map, .. then I'm stumped.

Also, TYPING IN ALL CAPS MEANS YELLING  and it's annoying to read :)

Ok here goes the picture...sorry...:)

and here goes the question again:

If I create a face in poser pro using victoria 4 and other daz products shuch as 3d celebrity belle for example, How can I do to obtain a opened face map of this specific face that I have created ?

Thanks again... :)

MikeJ ( ) posted Tue, 14 April 2009 at 6:10 PM

Well, you could get a better 3D program that will let you bake all your surfaces into one texture map....

Is that what you mean? You want a map that shows not only the texture, but also the procedural materials too?
If that's the case, Poser can't do it. Not even the...ahem ... "pro" version. This in spite of the fact that pros tend to need such features, but I digress...

Let's try to clarify exactly what you would like to do in Poser.  How are you creating the face?  Are you applying morphs to change the model's facial features?  For example, defining a nose shape, enlarging/reducing mouth width, creating a prominent chin, etc.  Or are you enquiring about texturing, which is not quite possible within Poser itself.  It sounds to me that you are probably more interested in the figure's mesh and how the texture applies to it.

Maybe try to explain in detail what you would like to achieve.

cg3dstudio ( ) posted Tue, 14 April 2009 at 6:38 PM

No, i'm not using morphs... Its kind of... I use victoria 4, then i apply the 3d celebrity belle body and map... and then I want to get the open face map from it... just this... I'm not interested in the face smiling, crying, etc... just want the open face map ...

Victoria_Lee ( ) posted Tue, 14 April 2009 at 6:43 PM

Let's try this one more time ...

You're using Victoria 4 and you want the flattened image of her face map.  Is that right?

What you posted is what you get.  That's the flattened image of a texture applied to her 2D template.

If you want to modify the texture you'll need a program such as Photoshop so that you can save the new flattened image in .jpg format.  The only way Poser can create a face map is if you apply a texture file in either .png, .psd or .jpg format.  You can't create a texture file like you want.  You can, also, add a texture (or create one) using the material nodes in the mat room but you won't get a 2D texture map doing it that way.

MikeJ ( ) posted Tue, 14 April 2009 at 6:46 PM

Dude you keep saying "open face map".
No offense, but in 3D terminology that means nothing. Loosely though, everything it could possibly mean has already been covered.

Now, when you "apply the 3d celebrity belle body and map" what you're doing is applying the texture map which you (illegally) uploaded above, AND the body and/or face morphs.
The texture "open face map" you already have, obviously.
The body and face shapes made by the morph targets are altered 3D geometry. There is no "map" for that data.

HOWEVER, as I mentioned above, some programs can take that data and make normal maps, displacement maps, light maps, and other types of maps from it. Poser cannot.

cg3dstudio ( ) posted Tue, 14 April 2009 at 6:48 PM

OK,

I do not want to create any texture... I want to use victoria 4, then use the 3d celebryty belle body and map in victoria 4... then , get the open face map from this victoria 4 with 3d celebrity belle applyed on it...

victoria 4 -> apply 3d celebrity belle body and map -> modified victoria 4 -> get open face map

MikeJ ( ) posted Tue, 14 April 2009 at 6:54 PM

Right, the Open Face Map. Why didn't you say so in the first place?

They're all stored in your Documents and Settings folder, in your Poser Temp. As you do such things, Poser makes  the map you're looking for and stores it as a temp file.
Just go looking for it, it should be there somewhere. it might take a while, just look real hard.

markschum ( ) posted Tue, 14 April 2009 at 6:55 PM · edited Tue, 14 April 2009 at 6:59 PM

To clarify for the Original poster. The uv map does not change if morphs are applied , or you make a new morph . You may get some texture stretching if its an extreme morph but thats all.

You can use the free uv mapper to display and save a texture template for anything already mapped.

The "open faced map" is eaither a texture to be applied , and they are in runtime/textures/vebdir_name folder , or its the UV map template whaich you can get a copy of from Daz or using uv mapper.  Its referred to in some applications as  pelt mapping.

Miss Nancy ( ) posted Tue, 14 April 2009 at 6:59 PM

I don't have "3d celebrity belle body and map", but it's possible that the unwrapped UVmap for the V4 head is included in the distribution of "3d celebrity belle body and map", hence one might look for it in one's 3d celebrity belle/texture folder.  it must be frustrating that there's some difficulty in communicating here.  perhaps you could use your native language, as there are plenty of non-english-speakers here.

MikeJ ( ) posted Tue, 14 April 2009 at 7:04 PM · edited Tue, 14 April 2009 at 7:04 PM

I don't think he's talking about the UV map. That was already suggested.

Now it's become a mystery. I think he thinks Poser can create a map reflecting all the changes to the mesh as well as the texture. I think he's seeing that plain map and wishing it looked like the render, with the node's and morph's effects and all that, and thinking the map itself is being altered and that he can get at it.

Victoria_Lee ( ) posted Tue, 14 April 2009 at 7:11 PM

Whatever it is, MikeJ, he's just not getting it.  I've tried to break it down as basically as I can but he just doesn't seem to understand that the morphs and the maps are completely separate items.

You understended ... I have to look in 3d celebrity textures to get the uv map...

thanks

Victoria_Lee ( ) posted Tue, 14 April 2009 at 7:39 PM

Do you want the UV Map of Victoria 4's head?  That's what you get in the templates I pointed you to, earlier.

The UV Map for Victoria 4 is the same map used to create the 3D Celebrity Belle texture.  It is primarily the same base template for all V4 characters.

Victoria_Lee ( ) posted Tue, 14 April 2009 at 8:16 PM

The only difference is that it doesn't have any textures applied to it.  This is the base we all use to create textures.

I'm thinking maybe someone should remove that image map cg3dstudio posted before DAZ  or someone comes along and gets all upset...

Miss Nancy ( ) posted Wed, 15 April 2009 at 1:54 PM

mike, I'm guessing that imagemap is something from the promos for the daz item.  notice how small it is.  it may mean that cg3d got it from said promo materials and posted it here in hopes of learning where the full-size file was located in the item s/he purchased and installed.

Victoria_Lee ( ) posted Wed, 15 April 2009 at 2:11 PM

My guess, Nancy, from everything he's said here, is that he's looking for the uv map of Victoria4's head but doesn't understand that the template IS the uv map.

He hasn't posted anything since I made mention that this is what it is.

I agree. Try using your native language to explain what it is you need. I bet there's someone here who will understand it and help you ^_^

As it is now I'm more confused than ever in regards to what it is you want. And I'm sure it's something simple that's just lost in translation
