Subject: How Do One Use/Put a poser rar object into posers scene

mrjamespro ( ) posted Sat, 19 September 2009 at 6:45 PM · edited Tue, 28 January 2025 at 6:31 PM

Hi,
How do you put those rar extension table and chairs into poser 8 project.  Also how do you make the flip flops or other shoes work on wide feet of a character.  The dials make the flip flops/shoes warped and out of shape.
Thanks

rar is a compressed format like .zip. You can un-rar them with WinRar - or the free 7-Zip which handles several formats.

7-zip can be forund here: [http://www.7-zip.org/

Which Flip-flops? If they're the ones I made.. uhm.. they're not the best I'm afraid. One of my first, feeble attempts of modeling any kind of shoes.

If they're someone elses.. I still don't know L

Actually it depends on what kind of shoe it is. If they're conforming, you MAY be able to scale them by using the x-scale dial on their BODY. But most clothes and stff gets warped when scaled.

Hi,
Thanks.  I was unzipping them with a regular zip file.  The items come up as photos only.  I'll try the link you gave me.
The shoes and the flip flops came with poser 8.  I conform them first.  Then I use the dials, it still won't fix them it only warp them.  I guess they'd be okay if I left the feet in regular size.
When I use to use poser pro, I also had ray dream software.  I'd create shoes only with animation master then upload them to ray dream and export them to poser pro.  I can find my ray dream software.  I still have it on my hard drive under a new hard drive which won't let me open it.
Thanks

Hi,
Me again.  Do you know of a converter program that will take any 3d program like 3d studio or animation (which I use) and convert it's drawing to poser?  I use to use ray dream.  I can't find the cd anywhere.
thanks

When you say "drawing" do you mean model? As in geometry? If so, the correct terminology is 3D object or 3D model. Drawing gets confusing, as the word "drawing" is used to describe a 2D image primarily.

If that's not what you meant, then you'll need to first learn to use a modeling program like Wings3D, Blender, Silo, Hexagon, Lightwave, XSI,3DSMax, or Maya.  You can use any of  these programs to model a 3D object using your 2D drawing as a reference.

If you meant something else entirely, perhaps posting an image of what you have that you wish to make usable in Poser would help clarify how best to answer your question.

Hi.  Thanks for the info.  Yes I mean a creation of a 3d.  I use to create an object with animation masters and then grab it with ray dream software then convert it then import it into poser.  Have ray dream on my system for it's on an old hard drive that's a slave to a new hard drive buy won't open now.  I have the software but can't find it in my storage unit.  I'll figure it out.
Thanks

IIRC animation master can export to OBJ and 3DS and those will open directly in poser. You don't need ray dream.
