Hi,
I'm getting an out of memory message when I try to render certain combinations of objects . I've encountered this issue once before on a previous computer and worked around it by increasing a parameter which I have since forgotten. Does anyone know how  to correct this issue? I.m using Poser 5 with Vista os and 4GB ram.

Does Poser 5 have a render setting for Bucket Size?
If so, what Bucket Size are you using? Have you tried reducing it? This will reduce memory usage during the render.

I've been using the Poser 4 Render option, but I'll try experimenting with the Firefly render engine which does have a bucket size.
Thanks

In the early Poser versions, "Out of Memory" doesn't always mean that it's ACTUALLY out of memory. It may also mean "I've encountered something i don't know what to do with. I give up" - like, for instance, a missing texture map. The later Poser versions (I think from 7 and above) has finally left that generic error message for something more actually fitting :)

I  believe that your asesment  is probably correct. I increased the page file size but the Poser 4 render option still crashed. However the render works using  the firefly render engine on the same scene. I prefer the P4 render option to the firefly because it looks sharper to my eye.
