Subject: texturing in poser help - Transporter Room

jedman67 ( ) posted Tue, 03 August 2010 at 11:47 AM · edited Fri, 07 February 2025 at 2:12 PM

I recently built a mesh in Max, but converting it to poser is giving me a challenge - namely, certain parts of the mesh are showing a tiled-texture which ruins the texture completely.
This is how it shows up in Poser 9:

and this is how its supposed to look:

any assistance would be appreciated

It looks liek you may have doublesided polys there. Try adding a tiny amount of displacement to the back wall, like 0,01  with a noise node - that's too small to be seen but should fix the problem if it is caused by what I think it is :)
Nice transporter room btw ^_^

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.

Tick the "Normals_Forward" box on the "PoserSurface" node of any materials affected by this problem (the use of displacement is only required by P5 because this option isn't available).

thanks. i think i just figured it out - i just needed to fix U/V scaling and offset. Problem is, changes only show up in render, which is annoying. is there a way to fix the preview so it reflects actual texture changes?

How are you plugging the textures into the PoserSurface?  You should see the changes in Preview if you are connected to Diffuse_Color.

No, the Preview can only reproduce a subset of what's possible with the shader nodes.

the texture files are not changing - its the tiling that is.
