@odf and Les: Meanwhile I gave up all hopethat I will ever learn to handle "this" and "that"... sorry! But I am glad to hear that you, Les had a nice refreshing shower. I will post the large version to the gallery in some hours.

And I have some questions: I have converted all poses I have made so far to the WW2-version of Antonia.

When do you recommend to post them to the Freebie site (and maybe RO-freestuff as well)? How do you want me to name them (Update for Antonia insert number here). And would you prefer a second release for the new version beside the first set or a replacement of them?

@3dream: Wow - I always liked your interpretations of basic figures and you made Antonia look like a movie-star. Super!!

@bob1965: *I wouldn't want to confuse the poor little dears by giving them too many options? *

Now that was mean! And true! And so funny that I had to put my coffee-pot aside...*

I'm not always right, but my mistakes are more interesting!

And I am not strange, I am Limited Edition!

I am really glad to know that you enjoy the face morph!

I have used to texture from the first UVmap version. I changed little parts of the texture to get the result I was looking for.

Today, I made this free resource for Antonia (transmaped brows and lashes). You can use the textures on the development of your textures for Antonia (for freebies or commercial).

You can download the textures in my web site: http://arrow3d.com/

Remenber, if you use the transmaped brows you will need to have face skin textures without brows.

Scale factors:

1 x for body and feet
2 x for hands and skull
4 x for the nails and everything on the face map
4 x vertical and 10 x horizontal for the pink (hey, there was room)

I think the mesh is pretty much done as well. I might still fix one tiny little detail concerning the iris, and of course I need to set up the new material zones.

Well, PhilC was able to make one, and the testers were able to convert a variety of clothes with it. So I take it that there's nothing in the figure anymore that would break WW2. The quicker I release the new version, the less danger there is of creating lasting, widespread confusion.

That said, I don't know how much testing Phil usually does for his plugins, and when he's planning to release it.

@odf,

Think I have found a small bug! Hope I am not leading you on a wild goose chase. I don't have time to check thoroughly at the moment.

This is what seems to be happening. Don't know how I did not spot this before. The 'toeCap' and 'brows' materials, though transparent, have a light grey specular colour. When I do a render, I'm getting specular highlights off these. Either setting the specular color to black, or setting the specular value to zero, will both cure the problem.

Applying the SF ToniPolygon set does not cure it, because that set (quite correctly) does not have those materials. It's not hard to cure, but a bit of a bummer if you start a render, without remembering to fix it. So perhaps it should be fixed in the cr2? I noticed this in the 1.0.0 release, have not had time to check the 1.2.0 release yet.

I could be wrong, but from memory, I think "KsColor" is the specular color. Antonia 1.0.0 has this in the toeCap and brows:

        KsColor 0.6 0.6 0.6 0

I think you need this:

        KsColor 0 0 0 0

@odf,

FireFly render of Antonia's feet over a grey background colour. Everything above the feet was hidden, the skin_LSGS and nailsToes materials were made transparent, with specular off. The toeCaps material was left at the default setting. One infinite light was used. Top image shows the highlights that are rendering. Bottom image shows the feet made opaque again.

Faery_Light ( ) posted Sun, 27 February 2011 at 12:21 PM

les, i've found that problem in each version and I just adjust the specular color and value as you said.

Firefly render PoserPro, single infinite light, Antonia 1.0 loaded at default.

Internally Ks values are the same for all skin surfaces with the exception of the opacity.

Not seeing the problem in either area until there is a change in the Ks values between the transparent and the underlying opaque areas.

Edit: Let's try that with the correct render posted. :blushing:

@lesbentley: Ah, many thanks for that! I've always foolishly assumed that the problem was in the texture sets, but never actually checked. I'll fix it quickly before the release. The same thing happens for the eyebrows, by the way.

@SaintFox: I would suggest you remove the old versions of the poses, but wait for me to upload Antonia-1.2 before you post the new ones.

Ooh, this is useful.  I had to guess about scaling, when trying to apply a UV-reliant weave node to AntoniaA.  Now I know the proper conversion factor.  The only problem with that sort of thing being that one needs to change the scaling between the hands and body, but they're merged into the same material zone, preventing that from being done in the materials room.   But I can live with that.

And the "pink" is... what I suspect it is?

Got it.  👍

Sort of on the topic of the undesirbale specularity.  Some texture sets seem to plug the brow transparency into "Highlight_Size", rather than "Specular_Value".  This leaves slight specular artifacts in a render.  I carried around this problem for ages before I caught it.  I kept looking for a mesh or morph problem as the cause of the discolored area, when it was actually a tranparency problem.

I found no problems with the WW2 files for Antonia.  There are some limitations, but they're not specific to Antonia.  PhilC did a bang-up job with the WW2 support for Antonia, IMO.  :thumbupboth:

Well. even the new version of WW2 doesn't convert the hip/waist/abdomen region correctly. The wais is shown in th ebody parts but not in the cloth but IMO it is not really necessary. Here is one render with the Booties for V3.

There is that.  Our Waist actor often seems to be created as a ghost actor.  It doesn't seem to break the converted garment in any case, however.  I guess it may indicate in some way why it was so crucial that Antonia have her actors renamed.

Hmmmm.... I did not run into this problem with V3 clothing. I just got the new version of the Antonia WW2 support. Maybe you want to ask Phil about it and send this render to him?

@odf: So shall it be 😉 I will keep an Antonia 1.0 (I renamed it's geometires by adding a "PM" for Puppetmaster to them and linked the cr2's to them) to have a Puppet-Master-ready Antonia. If someone has use for it (any time) drop me a line and I send it along. Because there are still so many poses by Schlabber waiting for conversion... Together with the renaming-script I can then make the poses WW2 ready "on the fly".

By the way: Will you announce the release of Antonia-1.2 somewhere and explain the what and why of the changes? And, maybe, the "what-not" may be important as well so that people who created for her know what can be kept and what has to be renamed to work.
