Thank you, SF. :)
OT:My Brother is beginning to heal a little now but may still have to have one more surgery.
Back on Topic:And now that we have a much better Grandma for Antonia, I will delete the old one from the free site.
BTW: Last time I did that I made a mess so I may need to have DigitalLion explain how to do it correctly. :)
As I update my older files I will delete them and add a note that they are updated so there will be no confusion.
Let me introduce you to my multiple personalities. :)
BluEcho...Faery_Light...Faery_Souls.
I am glad to hear that your brother has "only" one more surgery to go but anyway (I am not sure if this is a correct term for a grown up man): Poor boy! Please pass my best wishes to him!
I asked Leo about deleting files from the free site and he said: "Uncle Leo will do this for you!". And he explained to me that this is a security thing as he wanted to protect us from being hacked by someone who wants to mess up files and delete them.
So a sitemail or an email to me or Leo is enough and Leo will delete files that are not needed anymore.

Do you want Leo to delete the file now? And if so would youpoint me in the right direction with a link so that he does not delete something you want to keep?

Try this, I think it should work. I have not tested it myself, because I don't have the latest 1.2 version installed. In theory it has now been converted, and should work OK. As to what went wrong in the first place, I don't know. Perhaps you applied the conversion to the wrong file. If you did everything correctly, and these are still the results you get, I would suggest speaking to the author of the script, and asking for your money back.
Too bad that I got it for free... LOL I think I must have dome something wrong as the script worked so fine with the poses. Thanks a lot, Les!! I just closed Poser for today as I worked far, far too long today and can already feel that the sandman was here. I will try the morph out tomorrow.

SaintFox,
By the way, all I did to make the conversion, was to follow SteveJax's method.
Load the file into a text editor.
Set the Search string to be "hip", no colons (:), no numbers, just "hip" (without the quote marks).
Set the Replace string to be "waist".
Make sure the cursor is at the beginning of the file. Do "Replace All" (or whatever it's called in your editor).
Now, set the search string to be "waist2".
Set the replace string to be "hip".
Make sure the cursor is at the beginning of the file. Do "Replace All".
Save the file.
I use EditPad Lite as my text editor, it can do batch editing, and so convert a number of files at once.
I am thinking about appending "(1.2)" to the file name of any files I convert, eg "MonsterMeggaMeallons-INJ(1.2).pz2", so I can tell at a glance that the file has been converted. Just a thought, have not actually tried it yet.
I'm wondering where this conversion script you mention is. Also, have you seen a packet of chocolate biscuits? I seem to be having trouble finding stuff lately.
The above method is OK in an emergency, if you are stuck out in the back woods, with only a Bowie knife, a piece of flint, and seven inches of string, and it's not as complicated as it looks from all the numbered points (took longer to write the above, than to actually do it), but a script would be nice.
@lesbentley: Below is the conversion script in all its glory. I've been keeping it hidden in this thread because it's bloody stupid ("shipment" becomes "swaistment") and overwrites files in place for a whole folder structure recursively. So it's not for the faint of heart, and particularly not for people who keep only one copy of their files. :laugh:
<span style="font-family:'courier new', courier;">#!/usr/bin/env python
import os, os.path
def replace(text):
out = []
for line in text.split("n"):
out.append(line.replace("hip", "waist").
replace("waist2", "hip").
replace("Hip2", "hip"))
return "n".join(out)
def do_path(path):
if os.path.isdir(path):
for entry in os.listdir(path):
do_path(os.path.join(path, entry))
elif not os.path.islink(path):
fp = open(path)
text = fp.read()
fp.close()
if text.find("hip2") >= 0:
print "Converting " + path + "..."
fp = open(path, "w")
fp.write(replace(text))
fp.close()
if __name__ == "__main__":
import tkFileDialog
path = tkFileDialog.askdirectory(title = "Folder to convert")
do_path(path)
print "Done!"
</span>
-- I'm not mad at you, just Westphalian.
I use Notepad++ here and it is able as well to do batch converting (I use it all the time when I have to change something in several matposes at once).
By the way: I forgot to mention that you where not able to find any conversion done in my morph because I uploaded the clean, old morphs. I was afraid that I broke something with the script and didn't want to make you fix something messed up - so I thought, better an untouched, formerly working morph set.

I think you could include the leading space in your seach for "hip". Poser files should accept that, and it would prevent some snafus involving accidental conversion of non-Poser files. Of course, you could still end up with a text file about the "waistpopotamus".... :unsure:

@Cage: There's one small problem with the leading space idea, because in an 'addChild' statement, you could have something line 'hip' alone on a line with only tabs preceding it.
I guess a (relatively) save way to catch all possible case would be to do a regular expression search/replace instead of just a simple text-based one. Maybe I'll have a look at that tonight.

In the mean time, the above image is what I am seeing after applying your morph. I suspect It's not what you are seeing. I even suspect there may be a Poser bug involved here, but I want to be sure I am attacking the right problem this time.

Oh, right. I guess that would miss any references in ERC code lines, too. That's where I'd end up writing something labored and fiddle-y, which tried to cover every contingency. :lol:
I've never worked with regular expressions in Python much. :unsure: Hmm.

Hmmph!
good thing when I posted there what was coming I asked all contributing artists interested in creating stuff for Antonia to please post them in same place and to aske here where the best places would be. I guess I should have written in 24 point EXTRA BOLD text! Do you think the suggestion would have been noticed then. :(
Also, I thouht version 126 was being fazed out? Is that true or did I mis read it?
Hey Blue Echo!
Nice work. I assume she is for Antonia 1.2 or is it still for version 1.0? I am all confused!
Now is version 1.2 the WW version or is something else going on here with this new .v.1.2....... I seem to have missed something with all the tennising here!
@shante: I imagine Aki didn't see the thread about Antonia 1.0. Anyway, the face morph will still work, as will any face morphs made for versions 0.9.120 (a.k.a. 120) or later and most face morphs made for earlier versions.
Version 1.2 is the one that's WW compatible. As far as the end user is concerned, all previous versions should go the way of the dinosaur a.s.a.p.
-- I'm not mad at you, just Westphalian.
@shante: all textures will still work. Use AntoniaA-1.2 for textures made for versions 120 and earlier or those that say specifically that they were made for AntoniaA, and Antonia-1.2 for all other textures. If you're unsure, try both and see which one works.
-- I'm not mad at you, just Westphalian.
Quote - Shante I think your confusing the obj version and cr2 version.
Man I am just confused in GENERAL! just got my butt chewed out and spit back at me for messing royal with our bank. Some legal issues are now completely screwed and so are my sister and I bcause of my stupidity and inability to NOT get confused. I asure you my prepensity for confusion is not endemic to this community but to EVERY Community I seem reside in.
Some people understand and are sympathetic and patient with me (sorta like with a retarded child) but my sister and her megolomaniacally perfect husband do not. :(
Please, what is the difference. :(
Quote - I was just at the free site and i noticed there are some textures there for versin 114-116. Not sure but these are not for version 1.0 or 1.2 right?
WWhat about some of the FBM stuff? None of those will work with either 1.0 nor 1.2...right?
Texture compatibility doesn't vary by the release version of Antonia. There are two Antonia UV mappings. Textures for 114-116 are compatible with the AntoniaA UV mapping. Use them with the AntoniaA figure which was included with the Antonia-1.2 download.
The FBMs I posted yesterday are formatted for use with version 1.2. The geometries are the same, so the morphs will work with 1.0 - but the actor names have changed, so the morph-loading process is not Antonia-1.0 compatible. Other FBMs will be the same: compatible geometries but possibly incompatible actor names.
We need a standard FAQ somewhere, to address questions like this, I think.... :unsure:

OK I guess what is throwing me is this remapped version thing.
I thought that a remap version was like remapping the object so say a V3 tex works on Antonia 1.2.
Or am I getting that backward......a V3 texture is remapped to fit any Antonia Obj/.Cr2?! :(

Cage you and every one else here are great and I thank you but tonight I only gleaned some of the info pertinent to my confusion from yur explanation.
To make it simple for me I will try to interpret what I have gleaned:
I can use .Cr2 version 1.0 or 1.2 and all textures and characters and FBM will more or less work with either version.....yes!? :)
If everyone out there is as messed up as me then i guess you are right that FAQ page ould be a great way to inform us so I/We don't keep disrupting the tech flow of this thread here and elsewhere. I know for one I am getting tired even of myself asking the stupid questions repeatedly. but you gotta keep it so simple a third grader without any Poser knowledge will understand IMHO. The more technical it gets the more the confusion builds. :(

Correct, about the textures. :thumbupboth:
The FBMs recently uploaded to the Free Site will only load properly for Antonia 1.2, however. Once the morphs are loaded, they could be transferred to an older version of Antonia and they would work properly. The geometries haven't changed, but the actor names have changed, which impacts the morph-loading process.
The only change between Antonia 1.0 and Antonia 1.2 is actor re-naming. The old "Hip" is now "Waist". The old "Hip2" is now "Hip".
I think an FAQ with a compatibility chart or something might be useful for newcomers. Can that sort of thing be added to the wiki?

Right on! :laugh: But your winky guy makes me nervous. :scared:
I was having such luck with displacement textures for clothes and hair that I thought I'd try one for basic muscle detailing. A bit of definition in the neck, hands and feet, forearms and knees, etc, would presumably help the figure look even more realistic.
But... Cage knows not the anatomy. :lol: It's not going so well. :sad: I think we could use something like this, though, if anyone has the skills.

Quote - I was just at the free site and i noticed there are some textures there for version 114-116. Not sure but these are not for version 1.0 or 1.2 right?
And Ann texture works for 1.2...right?
All textures produced for any version of Antonia, should work on Antonia-1.0.0, and Antonia-1.2.0. The thing you have to be aware of is that there are two different UV mappings. Loading "AntoniaA" (any thing ending with "A") Will use the older odf mapping, "Antonia" (without the "A") will use the later MJ mapping. You just need to make sure you load the correct cr2 for the texture you want to use, either the "A" version, or the standard version.
Quote - WWhat about some of the FBM stuff? None of those will work with either 1.0 nor 1.2...right?
Almost all, of the "FBM stuff" made before the last week, will work on Antonia-1.0.0. Stuff that was made for 1.2, may or may not work on 1.0, but FBMs usually will not.
There was a split in compatibility at the release of Antonia-1.2.0. Anything that involves "hip", "hip2", or "waist". Will only be compatible on one side of the split. Stuff that does not involve these actors, will work either side of the split.
The rule of thumb is: Stuff that uses a "waist" is compatible with 1.2 and probably later releases. Stuff that uses a "hip2" is compatible with 1.0 and previous releases.
Quote - Ok. I can still use version 1.2 even if not working with WW right.

Yes, the anna textures will work on any version.

I know I will probably regret asking this question but in for a penny in for a pound....DEEP BREATH.....
Once the FBM morphs are loaded into version 1.2 how would one transfer them to an older version...say 1.0?

You'd probably want to use a utility like Morph Manager, or one of the various CR2 file editors. (If you want to make it difficult, you could use a simple text editor, but that's not advisable unless you enjoy suffering. :lol:) I use Dimension 3D's Poser File Editor, available in the 'Rosity marketplace, but other options are available.

Sorry, it is not yet available. I have to find a minute first to shove the mapping onto the current geometries.

dphoadley created it alright. I just have to make an OBJ file that has his mapping with Antonia's current shape. No biggy, really, but I haven't touched my tools in months, so there may be some dusting off involved.
I'll see when I can get to it.
