Quote - well.. how is someone supposed to know when things are wrong or not liked if no one tells them?
Oh yeah, I completely agree with that. What I'm talking about is the criticism they attracted for shutting up shop, reopening, shutting, then changing name and moving to RDNA.
Coppula eam se non posit acceptera jocularum.
Maybe it was all done for personal reasons? They arent from the USA, they are in another country, not sure what the tax laws are over there. I dont understand it, and it makes me wonder, but who am I to question their actions, when I dont know a thing about them really. shrug
I do know that I really like the quality they put into the clothing, that there is not much like it out there. That you CAN use it on v4 and not have to use it on Alice. That is chalk full of morphs, movement, etc and I for one, am glad that they are back. I try to remember that this is the internet, not every one wants to tell their life story or for people they dont know to know what ever issues they might be having on a personal level. Just MHO.

Which was exactly what I was referring to as well. I don't have a problem with someone critiquing items that are out for sale. It was the vendor dismissal and near bashing I was commenting on.
The thread wasn't just about a product, it was about a vendor that is back somewhere else with a different name so the opinions would be just as much about the vendor as a specific product I would assume....It's giving an opinion regarding that vendor being back that was really the original topic based on the subject line so.....everyone has their opinions on the entire subject and as long as they don't cross the TOS then they can be expressed
Like I said people express things in their own "voice" so to speak. We can't tell people how to relay their opinion or the words to use to express them. As long as they don't break the TOS, then it's fine and so far that hasn't happened with any of the opinions expresses so there should be no issue at all.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but You Can and You Do. Websites do it all the time when they have forums. The TOS is all about "Telling people how to relay their opinions". Moderators have been very vocal here at times telling people how to express themselves.
hey ...now that farmville post must cross the TOS ..you trying to stop me from growing my peas ????
do they have peas in farmville?

Alice at about 0.6 as I remember.
I'm personally grateful to the AS team, as they gave me Alice for nothing as a gift a few years back; I've managed to get some work published and to earn some revenue using mostly their stuff since then. I think their products have largely been second to none in terms of quality and imagination. Until the new thing - it looks to me like a poor pastiche of their earlier work.

I'll have to look that word pastiche up, but I agree on what you say here, PAul :)
edited to add: A pastiche is a literary or other artistic genre that is a "hodge-podge" or an imitation.
and also agree with this ... the hodge podge part.

wow, nice renders! thanks! (still looks a little bug-eyed to me though)
I think the money you made from your renders was as much due to your artistic efforts as to their character.
Love esther

Example, I don't give a rat's ass if Tesco close down then reopen as Tasco or whatever.
That's of course true. Maybe someone decides to change the name because the old one does not longer fit into the product line (or as he became hectic when he first logged into a store as a lurking beginner and was asked "Your userame?" and typed "John12345").
Changing the name is not a problem, deciding to move to another store is not a problem, that's only a vendor using his freedom to sell what and where and as whomever he likes. As long as support is still given to the products now pulled I do not understand the disapointment. No vendor can guarantee that his products will be available forever, seeing a complete product line being pulled is something that many people know who saved money for a specific product and when they finally saved enough the desired product is replaced by a different model. Bad luck!
As said: If a vendor has to close the doors of his shop out of whatever reasons this is often sad as the 3d-scene looses some ideas and inspiration - and customers may loose support for what they've purchased. If the vendor re-appears under his old or a new name with new products the least thing I would expect is that a customer gets support again for what he has purchased - as long as we talk about bugfixes and likewise things - I would never expect that a vendor offers me a kind of lifetime-support for questions like "How can I achieve an effect like shown in the promo?"
I am not sure if support on the "old" products is still given as I did not find an error so far in what I have. Maybe someone of you knows more?*

How cool! I can't tell which render I like better, the ladie have a too different attitude, dangerous, somehow scary the XS one, proud and strong the XL one. And in fact I don't care for skinny or full figure when it comes to 3d as in the end it's all polygons and fantasy and should not be taken too serious but as what it is: Art and fun (or as a former german king said - poor translation by me: Each should be able to get happy in his own style).

Quote - nice images.. but... if may offer a criticism?
Please, feel free; the second image was only a light-hearted "sketch". As my wife is out of town on a business trip, and I'm a) off work this week and b) in possession of a 3 litre bottle of Co-Op cider and four cans of Guiness, I might not be able to make sense for too much longer.....!

I've got the V3 version and use it all the time; must get around to getting the V4 one too - thanks for the reminder!

Oh, ok, thanks for the tip. It's a pretty extreme pose, which AerySoul released as a freebie on their site, and not one I'd care to try and replicate for real!

i like the 1st facial...she is very exotic looking..nice legs..too skinny upper body. still like her though. imagine she's very ambidexterous and can body shape in all kinds of directions.

Curves! Hallelujah! Someone fed the poor waif!
The hip/thigh position is a bit past realism, but trust me, there are people who can torque their joints nearly that far however, so if the lady happens to be hyperflexible it isn't that far out of the possiblities of reality. Actually, if the knee were brought forward a bit and the calf/foot adjusted to compensate it is entirely possible. Bending the straight leg a touch at the knee would help too.
The leg pose is very reminiscent of some is Indian and south east asian forms of dance.
You know, I might start posting all my work in the forums rather than the galleries - the level of constructive criticism and vigorous debate here seems much healthier....!
I can't take any credit for the AS pose, all I did was adjust the hands to fit the sword. I might go back and work some more on it, seems to me some blood rendered on the surface of the hand would look good.

Hmmmm... not sure if the pose is sooo impossible. I agree about the right leg, it's a bit hard to balance this way (as more as she stands on her toe) - but what people often forget is that you can see poses as well as a snapshot of a person in movement. Nothing really tells us that she stands this way for hours, minutes or even seconds. If you see it as part of a movement it is pretty realistic. I've just tried this pose out and beside the fact that lifting myself tohe toes was uncomfortable I was able to achieve a likewise pose (but with a broomstick instead). Far more uncomfotable as the leg's postition was the back-bending of arms and shoulders. And yes, I have the problem of hypermobilty.

Quote - I was thinking more for a held pose such as you see in dance. If it is taken as a part of a movement, yeah, it is doable. Womens hips and pelvis' are designed to bend and warp in all sorts of interesting ways by nature, add some hypermobility and yay! it is amazing.
i was watching some porn one night and those movements, positoning, and stuff were truly amazing.

The thigh should be a bit more upright, yes, but lets face it, it is still V4 and her joints we are talking about here. I still dream of forearms and elbows that don't look just wrong when bent. Her thighs are always an issue when you bend the legs, as are the knees. Those foibles only become more pronounced with morphs that add any bulk to her. I think that is part of why we see so many scarecrow Vickies.
Quote - Upps... I wasn't aware that clothes where required to do this...

The little glitch on the hip can easily be fixed by some postwork. At least it's not a soft woman but a heap of polygons and the more artificial flesh you add to the body the better visible the creases will be. In fact you can even use the little crack to create a believable crease in your paint program...
By the way: Bending a leg the wrong way may end up in breaking your kneecap!
