I do in Poser:
File/Export/Wavefront obj.
I have made a folder My Obj on my desktop and save them there.
These obj's will go great with Bryce via the Import option.
Only thing is:
I never am able to get the textures and colors from Poser this way.
I can do some of this in Bryce, but it's not the same as in Poser.
If you can live with that, this is the easiest way, I think.
Good luck!

I tried that Peedy but like you, had trouble with the textures and colors. At least this way I do not have to go into the DTE to import all of that stuff. I have pretty well cleaned out the libraries in Bryce of things I did not want or need to make room. Now at least once the stuff is imported I have room to save it. However once it is in a scene file I can always go back and grab it from there which saves room in the Create and Edit files.
Have noticed some irregularities in exporting from Poser. A tree and foliage model from RDNA would not export together, but rather had to be done separately. Also the problem with B7 needing to by closed in order for Daz Studio to send to it remains the same.
Just got the latest version of Dogwaffle Pro and look forward to doing some layering in Photoshop with bryce images and particle brush stuff from PD which btw was used in some of the scenes from Avatar!

Yes, true.
Plenty of ways to go around it.

I only use Poser for some people, so I woudn't know.

Yeah, that's why I never use that.

Haven't seen the movie.
I don't use Dogwaffle or Photoshop.
Boring, eh? ;-)

I dunno.. i´ve imported stuff from poser without having to close bryce 7..did that happen recently?
peedy and artbynivan..when you import an obj into bryce..bryce says it can´t find the mats and asks you to find it.. go into the poser contenet folder and open up the mat file from there..yeah..i know it´s a pain in the bum...
cheers

Been happening everytime since I started using this method. It's B7 PLE. Finally got the save function coming out of P7 working methodically. I go into a given folder, say RDNA Old Wood trees and individually save out every tree to a separate folder with each saved numerically. I can then go into Bryce and create a separate category for those trees, stumps, logs, flowers or whatever. By saving numerically it makes it easier to go back to Poser if need be for reference. I've also renamed all of the extracted folders by what they contain in addition to using the issuing merchants numbers. Once the custom libraries are set up it makes it so much easier for creative efforts to flow well. Any system that helps my low frustration tolerance is good .

I save my most used Poser textures as Bryce materials complete with bump, transparency, and specularity settings. I made special folders for People textures which has subfolders for skins, eyes, hair, and clothing. That way, when I import my Poser .objs and Bryce asks me to find the materials, I just skip it all. The object imports as a blank, white figure. Then I just apply my saved Poser materials from the Bryce libraries I made.
This way, you find the materials once, set the bump, transparency, specularity perfectly, save it, and you never have to go searching through your Poser texture files for it again.
Noticed something else about importing from DS to Bryce. When the models come in they are not visible and and the scene has to be rotated about 90 degrees before coming visible. Bit strange that! After that I have found some difficultie in selecting some of the larger items such as pine trees in order to save them to the libraries. It becomes necessary to move well out from the scene so as to be able to select enough of the item to group it. Thats OK though. I enjoy the challenge; NOT!
Obj will be imported to Bryce center and if camera or director's view has been moved prior to importing things might not be visible. It is simplest to go to overhead view to find the import and move it to a spot in front of the camera.
Imported objects will have that sparse wire frame for some reason. Symetrical lattices do the same thing, but that is not a new B7 idiosyncrasy.

After several weeks of travail and forum surfing, the needed method for importing some of my excessive content into B7 boils down to this. You need Poser to open the stuff with. Then you save the file as a Poser document. Open Daz Studio, import the Poser document and send it to B7. For reasons unknown to me at least there seems to be a problem with either Poser not wanting to handle the obj portion of the file or Daz not wanting to import it and also Bryce needs to be shut down for the import function to work! I do not profess to be a software person and it seems to have taken many attempts to get it to work. I am just fortunate in having purchased P7 a couple of years ago when it was on sale.
I have given up on doing content searches with DS as it searches like a vacuum cleaner and grabs everything rather than just usable content requiring only minimalist installation of content to it or it finds the folder but not the content. Bit frustrating as navigating to a folder and having it show as being empty when you know good and well the file you need is in there doesn't show or it lists multiple copies of an empty folder and refuses to allow deletion of the listings on the tree. So other than a conduit for content to Bryce it serves little purpose for me.
Perhaps in some distant future Bryce will be able to import all content without such a convoluted path.
